WWE RELEASES TWO MORE TALENTS

By Mike Johnson on 2019-12-08 16:11:00

WWE has announced the release of Konnor and Viktor, The Ascension, bringing the total announced releases today to four.

WWE's updated statement: "WWE has come to terms on the releases of Jonathan Huber (Luke Harper), Sin Cara and Ryan Parmeter (Konnor) and Eric Thompson (Viktor) of The Ascension. WWE wishes them all the best in their future endeavors."

Konnor and Viktor had not been utilized by the company since April of this year, when they lost a Main Event match to Heavy Machinery.

Konnor was first signed by WWE in 2005, when he was assigned to the Deep South Wrestling developmental system.  He left WWE and worked the independent scene from 2007 through 2010 before being signed again to a new developmental deal for FCW, which later morphed into NXT.  During that run, he was teamed with Viktor, who had been signed in 2011 after working in the last incarnation of Stampede Wrestling.  The duo held the WWE NXT Tag Team Championships and were presented as a massively destructive tag team, something that never truly translated to their main roster run.

Viktor commented on the release:

There are rumblings of additional releases coming today, so we'll see what shakes out as the day progresses.
