ROCK N' ROLL EXPRESS VS. WILD CARDS & MORE: NWA POWERRR SEASON FINALE TV REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2019-12-03 20:30:00

Tonight is our season finale before the December 14th PPV, Into the Fire and we’re kicking things off, as we always do, with Dokken’s “Into The Fire”

Your announcers are Joe Galli and, for the last time, Jim Cornette.  Joe Galli is in the studio solo to begin and he runs down tonight’s card.

Non Title Match: NWA National Champion Colt Cabana vs Ricky Starks.

Cabana and Starks with a handshake at the outset.  Aron Stevens joins Dave Marquez at the interview area and wonders what he has to do to get a National Title shot.  He is joined by The Question Mark.  Cabana confronts Stevens and reminds him that he quit and is no longer a wrestler.  Cabana challenges Stevens to face Starks.  The winner will get a National Title shot.  Stevens send the Question Mark to the back, much to the chagrin of the audience.  Out match is officially changed…

Aron Stevens vs. Ricky Starks for a National Title opportunity

Starks charges but Stevens meets him with forearm smashes and rams Starks in to the turn buckle.  Shoulderblocks by Stevens in the corenr followed by a Biel toss, Stevens plays to the crowd.  Stevens with a bodyslam attempt that Starks counters into a sling blade.  Starks with a spear for 2.  Stevens yells to the referee that he’s injured his knee.  The Question Mark comes out and checks on the knee.  As the referee is consulting with Stevens to see if he can continue, The Question Mark attacks Starks with chops.  Question Mark with a Mongrovian Spike and Stevens runs over for the pin.

WINNER: Aron Stevens

Stevens and The Question Mark celebrate

We get a commercial for Into the Fire on December 14th.

Joe Galli announces a special stipulation for the main event on December 14th.  Nick Aldis and James Storm with each select a referee for the first 2 falls of their NWA World Title Match.  The 3rd fall referee will be decided by a coin toss.  James Storm cuts a promo talking about how the NWA has a conspiracy against him, using evidence like an unaired triple threat win by Storm in the #1 contenders match and a disputed finish earlier this year against Nick Aldis.  Storm selects Brian Hebner to be his referee, only after Hebner gave his word that there’ll be no bias.

We get a Highspots.com commercial from Danny Deals and George South followed by a video feature on The Question Mark.  We see him mingling about the recent NWA Convention.

Joe Galli is back with highlights from WrestleCade, with a focus on the face to face between Nick Aldis and The Great Muta

Dave Marquez brings out Melina.  Melina puts over the NWA but stresses that her return has brought out the best on the NWA Women’s division.  She claims to give the division purpose.  Alyson Kay confronts her and threatens to smack her around.  She challenges Melina to a match right now.  Melnia follows her into the ring but thinks twice about it.  Marti Belle and Thunder Rosa attack the champion.  Kay takes a 3 on 1 beatdown and the heels leave her laying.

Tony Falk is up next with a commercial plugging Tony Falk’s Waffles and Tire Irons.

Kyle Davis with a pre match interview with the Rock and Roll Express, who will challenge The Wild Cards for the NWA World Tag Team Title.

We go to Nick Aldis who addresses the unaired triple threat match.  Aldis claims there is no conspiracy, Storm interjected himself in the match and it was never made official.  The match was supposed to be Ken Anderson vs Eli Drake.  Aldis flat out tells Storm that this isn’t TNA and that he can’t put the NWA officials in positions like that.  Aldis claims the only reason Storm is getting a shot is because Aldis demanded it to shut him up.  Aldis has chosen Tim Storm as his referee for the second fall.  Aldis claims that Kamille will have the night off as the recent distractions have rendered her ineffective.

The Season Premiere of NWA Power will be on December 17th, 3 days after the Into the Fire PPV

NWA World Tag Team Title Match: The Wild Cards, Thomas Lattimer and Royce Isaacs (champions) vs The Rock and Roll Express, Rick Morton and Robert Gibson

Lattimer and Morton start off with a lock up and Lattimer throws him off.  Headlock by Lattimer.  Into the ropes, shoulderblock and down goes Morton.  Lattimer invites Morton to quit but Morton with a kick and tags in Gibson, double shoulderblock by the Express.  Gibson punches both Wild Cards, Isaacs tags in.  Full Nelson by Gibson, Isaacs powers out.  Gut kick and punches by Isaacs.  Gibson reverses a whip into the corner but misses a charge, going shoulder first into the post.  Arm twist by Isaacs, tags in Lattimer.  Lattimer works the arm and shoulder of Gibson.  Double team by the Wild Cards, Gibson’s shoulder is in trouble.  Gibson almost makes the corner but Isaacs punches him down.  Lattimer tags in and charges the corner but misses.  Lattimer gets to Isaacs but Gibson is able to dive to his corner and Morton comes in like a house of fire.  Morton with punches, kneelifts and kicks.  All four in the ring, Ricky and Robert with a double dropkick for 2, broken up by Isaacs.  Lattimer holds Gibson, but Morton with a rolling reverse, crashing Lattimer and Isaacs together.  Morton completes the rollup and gets the 3 count.

WINNERS: The Rock and Roll Express- New NWA World Tag Team Champions

Jim Cornette leaves the commentary table and celebrates with his old enemies.  The crowd chants “Nine Times”.

Joe Galli, solo in the studio, thanks Jim Cornette for his support of the NWA and says goodbye to his broadcast partner.  Galli announces it is official that The Rock and Roll Express will meet the Wild Cards at Into the Fire.  Aron Stevens vs Ricky Starks vs Colt Cabana for the National Title is also made official.

Joe Galli runs down the PPV card and throws it to Nick Aldis who announces that Stu Bennett will be the broadcast host of Joe Galli.
