AEW SIGNS OLYMPIC MEDALIST BOXER

By Mike Johnson on 2019-10-26 15:37:00

During the final Southside Wrestling event today in Great Britain, Cody announced that All Elite Wrestling has signed 2012 Olympic Bronze Medal winning Anthony Ogogo, 30 years old, to a contract.  During the event, Ogogo got into a face to face with MJF and slugged him.

Ogogo medaled at the 2012 London Games, but retired from boxing earlier this year officially.  He last fought in 2016 in a bout where he suffered a shattered eye socket.  Losing that boutl Ogogo ended his career with a professional record of 11 wins - 1 loss.

In recent years, Ogogo has appeared in a number of celebrity reality series and commercial campaigns in Great Britain.  Now he will begin training for professional wrestling.
