COLT CABANA, KEN ANDERSON, NICK ALDIS, ARON REX, TREVOR MURDOCH & MORE: 10/15 NWA POWERRR TV REPORT

By Anthony Pires on 2019-10-15 22:41:00

We begin the show with a recap of Nick Aldis vs Tim Storm.  Somber music plays as Storm laments never being able to challenge for the 10 pounds of gold again.  The riffs of Dokken get us started again.

Jim Cornette and Joe Galli welcome us to the show and preview Allison Kay, Wild Card and Ken Anderson.  Dave Marquez welcomes Aron Stevens to the show.  Cheap ATLANTA pop.  Stevens talks about his success out West in films and theater.  He hit all the right notes saying the NWA, studio wrestling and professional wrestling is back. Aron Stevens then declares that HE is back.  Stevens demands that Marquez not make eye contact with him.  Stevens declares that there are stars and there are supporting players.  HE is a star.  We go to the ring for our first match.

Trevor Murdoch vs. Ricky Starks

Collar and elbow tie up into the corner, clean break by Murdoch.  Tie up again, arm drag by Starks.  Dropkick by Starks.  Starks misses a follow up dropkick.  Murdoch strikes a pose to mock Starks.  They exchange chops.  Kneelift and forearms by Starks, boot to the face by Mudoch.  Russian Leg Sweep by Murdoch, followed up by a missed legdrop off the top by Murdoch.  Starks with a dropkick to a prone Murdoch.  Cover by Starks for 1.  Neckbreaker for 2 by Starks.  Forearms by Starks.  Starks with a dropkick off the 2nd rope for 2.  Arm twist by Starks.  Mudoch throws him off.  They exchange punches.  Murdoch whips Starks into the ropes and Starks with a crucifix for the pin.

WINNER:  Ricky Starks

Marquez interviews Starks, Murdoch interrupts and offers a handshake of respect.  Ricky Starks plays up his future and taking his game up to another level.  Decent babyface promo playing up his skills, speed and looks.  Starks is having fun with this.  Oddly at times came off heelish even though the fans cheered him.

Joe Galli with a special report on the Nick Aldis-Kamille situation. There will be a full interview with Aldis and Kamille later in the hour.

NWA returns to PPV December 14 with Into The Fire.  Love me some Dokken.

Colt Cabana comes out for an interview.  Atlanta sees him as an absolute star.  Galli asks Cabana about the National Title.  Colt declares himself 100%.  Cabana introduces Mr. Anderson.

Colt Cabana and Mr. Anderson vs. Sal Rinauro and Jordan Kingsley

Cabana starts off with Rinauro.  Both guys work off of arm twists.  Colt with a leapfrog into another arm twist, tag into Anderson.  Chops by Anderson into a back breaker off the ropes.  In comes Kingsley, MEt by punches and chops.  Forearms by Anderson, kick by Kingsley. Anderson counters a whip into a clothesline.  Cabana back in. Elbow by Cabana and tags back out to Anderson.  Anderson with a fireman carry slam onto Kingsley, Rinauro with a blind tag, Anderson gives him the same fireman slam.  Cabana going back and forth.  Mic check by Anderson for the pin.

WINNERS: Colt Cabana and Ken Anderson

Outside the studio, Nick Aldis is unhappy about the upcoming interview.

Boy Tony Falk with a Waffles and Tire Iron Store commercial.  Not entirely sure what that was.

Kyle Davis interviews Eddie Kingston and Homicide, who issue a challenge to the Wild Cards.

Allison Kay vs Ashley Vox.

NWA Women's Title is not on the line.  Quick arm drag by Vox into a takedown by Kay.  Vox hits a dropkick.  Vox tries a takedown by Kay throws her off.  Slam by Kay for 2.  Kay throws Vox into the corner.  Fall Away slam by Kay for 2.  Kay with control in the corner.  Kay with a German suplex for 2.  Vox surprises Kay with a sunset flip for 2.  Vox to the top and hits a head scissors.  Cannonball by Vox for 2.  Kay hits her backdrop piledriver for the pin.

WINNER: Allison Kay

Interview with Allison Kay.  She shows respect to Vox.

Next week: Tim Storm addresses his future.

James Storm to the desk with Galli.  Storm runs Galli off.  Storm declares the National Title a prop, a means to the end to get the NWA World Title. Storm declares himself the real man of the NWA.  Eli Drake comes out to confront Storm and instead encourages him to challenge Aldis.  Beat Aldis and then Drake is next in line.  Seemed like an odd way of forging an alliance between the two, it was unclear.

Commercial from Austin Idol. This is carny at its best but it seems like a way of establishing Idol as some type of heel personality later

NWA World Tag Team Championship:  The Wild Cards (Thomas Lattimer and Royce Issacs) vs Outlaw Inc, Kingston and Homicide

Kingston and Latimer start off right away with clotheslines and punches.  Kingston gets the better of it and in comes Issacs.  Trade suplex attempts and Kingston wins that battle, tags in Homicide.  Double shouderblock by Outlaw Inc.  Homicide with a flying forearm for 2.  Issacs tries a fireman carry but hits a clothesline off the reversal.  Latimer tags in and hits a belly to back for 2.  Issacs back in and eats an elbow but hits a powerslam off Homicide's charge for 2.  Lattimer comes back in with an elbow.  Homicide tries a sunset flip out of the champions corner by Isaacs tags back in and breaks up the pin.  Back suplex by Isaacs for 2.  Isaacs cuts the ring off and Latimer tags back in.  Rear chinlock by Latimer.  Elbows by Latimer.  Isaacs tags back in.  Isaacs tries a top rope move but Homicide pushes him off and each team gets the tag.  Kingston takes on both Wild Cards.  Out of nowhere the Dawson Brothers jump the ring and attack Homicide and Kingston.  The Dawsons then turn their attention to the champions.  Referee calls for the bell.

OFFICIAL RESULT: No contest.

We go right to Nick Aldis and Kamille with Joe Galli.  Aldis talks about what a tough opponent Storm was.  Aldis heaps more praise, while subtly talking about Storm's age.  Galli asks about needing Kamille.  Aldis takes exception to the question, Galli defends his credentials. Aldis references his loss at All In to an inferior opponent due to interference and a crooked ref.  That's why he wants and needs an insurance policy.  Aldis defends his record of not letting Kamille interfere on his behalf.  Galli tries to get a question to Kamille but she refuses to speak.  Aldis and Kamille stonewall Galli and walk off the set.

We go to credits.
