NEW CHAMPION CROWNED: 10/14 NEW JAPAN RESULTS FROM TOKYO, JAPAN

Kevin Kelly, Gino Gambino and Chris Charlton on commentary.

Match 1:  SHO and YOH vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru and El Desperado

This is a preview of the Super Jr. Tag League next week.   Fast paced match.   Desperado looked good in his first match back from a jaw injury.   Desperado gets the pin on SHO.  

Match 2:  Tomoaki Honma and Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Toru Yano and Togi Makabe

Lots of comedy spots in this match.  Tanahashi pins Yano after a top rope splash.

Match 3:  Shingo Takagi and Tetsuya Naito vs.  Taichi, with Miho Abe, and  DOUKI

Taichi takes the match to the outside and throws Naito into the ring barrier.   DOUKI attacks Takagi with the metal pipe that he brings to every match.   Back in the ring, Taichi and DOUKI work on Takagi's injured shoulder.   Takagi with a lariat to DOUKI, and tags in Naito.  Taichi tags in and they pound each other with hard strikes.  Naito hits a DDT on Taichi.  Both tag out and Takagi hits DOUKI with a yoshigami.  Taichi breaks up the pin attempt.  Naito takes Taichi to the floor.   Takagi hits a pumping bomber on DOUKI.  Taichi grabs his microphone and hits Takagi in the face.  Referee calls for a disqualification.  Winners are Los Ingobernales de Japon.  Naito goes for Destino on Taichi, who reverses into a hard side suplex onto Naito's neck.  Takagi gets a superkick from Taichi.   Taichi hits Naito in the face with his microphone and nails a Last Ride powerbomb on Naito.

Match 4:  Jyushin Thunder Liger vs.  Minoru Suzuki 

This should be good!   Suzuki comes out first.   Liger comes out with a new mask and new uniform.   They are cautious to lock up.  Crowd is hot for this match.   Liger spits at Suzuki and invites him to grapple.   Suzuki gets Liger into a wrist lock.   Liger gets to the ropes for a break.   Suzuki invites Liger to grapple.   Liger grabs Suzuki and puts him in a submission around his arm and neck.   Suzuki gets to the ropes and Liger kicks him out of the ring.   They battle with chairs and ring barricades.    Suzuki wraps Liger”s arm around the ring barricade.   Suzuki starts ripping at Liger”s mask.    Suzuki withstands  vicious chops by Liger and continues to work on his injured arm.    Suzuki drops Liger with a headbutt and screams at him to get up.    Liger fights back with chops and clotheslines.   Suzuki reverses a Liger brainbuster into a sleeper.    Suzuki releases the hold and Liger baits Suzuki into an arm submission.    Suzuki flips over and gets to the ropes.    Liger hyperextends Suzuki at the elbow.    Suzuki locks Liger in another sleeper.    Suzuki attempts a Gotch Style piledriver and Liger blocks it.   Liger reverses it and hits a Lou Thes press for a 2 count.    Liger hits a brainbuster on Suzuki for a 2 count.   Suzuki counters with a dropkick.    Suzuki hits Liger with open handed slaps.  Liger retaliates with strikes of his own which Suzuki shrugs off.   Suzuki blasts Liger with a strike to the head and Liger drops to a knee and staggers.    Liger retaliates with more strikes as Suzuki dares him to hit him harder.     Suzuki hits a Gotch style piledriver on Liger and get the pin fall victory.     The crowd is stunned.  Suzuki  gets a chair from the outside and kicks away the young lions assisting Liger.    Suzuki throws the chair aside.   Suzuki drops to his knees and bows to Liger.   The crowd gasps in surprise.    Chris Charlton calls it the ultimate sign of respect.   Suzuki leaves the ring and walks to the back.

The crowd applauds Liger as he stands.   Liger takes the mic and says “Thank you Suzuki!”   Great hard hitting match!    

Match 5:   IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship - Will Ospreay (Champion) vs.  El Phantasmo (Challenger)

ELP sends Taiji Ishimori back to the locker room.  No Bullet Club at ringside.    These two wrestlers are way too fast to give an accurate play by play.    They are so evenly matched.    ELP baited Ospreay with a strike to the head and back rake.    Ospreay counters by throwing ELP to the floor and hitting him with a backflip over the top rope.   Ospreay throws ELP into Gino Gambino at ringside.    Gambino stops Ospreay from leaping onto ELP.  ELP counters with a chair to Ospreay’s face.  They battle into the crowd.     They fight to the top of an entry way.  ELP kicks Ospreay to the floor.   ELP leaps off the entry way onto Ospreay.   This was reminiscent of New Jack in ECW.     ELP drags Ospreay back to the ring for a 2 count.  ELP hangs Ospreay up on the tree of woe, then steps on his groin.   Ospreay powers up and German suplexes ELP off the top rope.   Match pick up the pace again.   Too much to recap.    ELP counters an Oz Cutter into an airplane spin neck breaker.    Action heads to the floor and Ospreay hits ELP with a cutter on the floor.  Ospreay nails a shooting star press for a 2 count.   Ospreay hits a Robinson Special on ELP, following up with an Oz Cutter.   Ospreay goes for the pin.   Referee is pulled out of the ring by Taiji Ishimori.    Ishimori attacks Ospreay with punches.   Robbie Eagles comes out to stop Ishimori and they fight to the back.    ELP low blows Ospreay and hits him in the head with the title belt.    ELP hits a top rope splash.   Ospreay kicks out at 2.     ELP hits a neck breaker from the top rope and a Styles Clash.   Ospreay kicks out at 2.   Ospreay hits a Spanish Fly on ELP for a 2 count.    Ospreay hits a flipping DDT on ELP, which I have never seen before.   Ospreay heads to the top rope but ELP crotches him.  ELP attempted a top rope hurricanrana, but Ospreay reverses into a powerbomb.    Ospreay hits ELP with Hidden Blade follows with Storm Breaker.    Ospreay gets the pin and the win. 

Will Ospreay retains his title!   Amazing match!    Please watch this match!

Match 6:   YOSHI-HASHI, Tomohiro Ishii and Hirooki Goto vs.  Yujiro Takahashi, KENTA and Jay White, with Gedo.

Kevin Kelly states Goto is the next challenger for Jay White’s IWGP Intercontinental Championship.

Bullet Club controls the action early, triple teaming YOSHI-HASHI.    KENTA and Ishii pair off and beat the crap out of each other.    Both tag out and Goto and White take the match to the floor.   White counters with a DDT to Goto and tags in Takahashi.   All six men in the ring and action spills everywhere.  Goto hits an Ushigoroshi on Takahashi and finishes him with a GTR.    Goto gets the pin on Takahashi.

Tomohiro Ishii attacks KENTA after the match and they fight to the locker.    

Jay White taunts Goto and Hiroshi Tanahashi, who was doing commentary at ringside.

Match 7:   IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Championship - Lance Archer vs. Juice Robinson

Kevin Kelly says if a New Japan champion fails to appear at an event then the title is stripped.   It is unknown if travel or an injury was the cause of Moxley now appearing.

Archer wants a No DQ match.   Juice agrees.  Juice spears Archer to the floor and beats him with a chair.  Archer choke slams Juice through a table.  Archer removes the turnbuckle pads from the ring.    Archer beats Juice with a chair.   Announcer screams for audience to stay out of the way.  Archer bring two tables in the ring.   Juice is bleeding from the nose.    Archer does the Undertaker walk on the ropes.  Juice trips him up and hits a superplex.    Juice does a somersault cannon ball on Archer through a table.    Juice gets a 2 count.    Archer hits a pounce on Juice through a table.   Brutal spot!    They battle with chairs but Archer punches the chair into Juice’s face.   Archer goes for the EBD Claw but Juice reverses into the Juice Box (stomach breaker) for a 2 count.   Juice went for Pulp Friction but Archer counters with a full Nelson bomb.    Archer hits the Black Out but Juice kicks out at 2.   Archer pounds on Juice and applies the EBD Claw and pins Juice.

New IWGP U.S. Heavyweight Champion Lance Archer!

Archer continues to beat on Juice till David Finlay makes the save.   He hits two stunners on Archer, who escapes the ring.    Archer grabs Kevin Kelly’s mic and says “Everybody Dies”.   

Match 8:   Contract Match - Kota Ibushi vs. EVIL

EVIL works on the neck of Ibushi.   Ibushi counters with kicks.    They are beating each other with power moves.  EVIL goes for a bronco buster but Ibushi counters with a double stomp to the chest.     EVIL wraps a chair around Ibushi’s head and smashes him in the head with another chair.   EVIL hits a superplex for a 2 count.    They trade blows and power moves.    EVIL hits Darkness Falls for a 2 count.    Ibushi hits an inverted piledriver and a Last Ride powerbomb for a 2 count.   Ibushi goes for a Bomaye and EVIL hits a lariat.    Ibushi kicks out.   EVIL hits two vicious suplexes.    They trade strikes.   Ibushi hits two Kamagoye knee strikes and pins EVIL.

Kota Ibushi continues to hold the contact for a title match at Wrestle Kingdom.   Hard hitting brutal fight!    Must see match!

Match 9:   IWGP Heavyweight Championship - Kazuchika Okada (Champion) vs. SANADA (Challenger)

The build for this match has been great!   The crowd is split on both wrestlers.   They start off fast and quick, countering each other’s moves.  They both know each other so well.   It is impossible to do this match justice with recapping all the action.    SANADA hits Okada with a tombstone and locks in Skull End.   Okada will not submit.    Okada gets to his feet and hits a Rainmaker clothesline.   Only a 2 count by Okada.  

Both men look exhausted.   SANADA locks in Skull End again.   Okada does not tap out.   SANADA hits a moonsault.    He goes for a second one and Okada gets his knees up.   Okada hits a tombstone but misses a Rainmaker.   Okada hits SANADA with a Michinoku Driver, and hits another Rainmaker for the pin.

Still IWGP Heavyweight Champion, Kazuchika Okada!

Amazing match!  I do not know how these two men can stand after this exhausting match.   

SANADA sheds tears for being unable to beat Okada.  Okada offers his hand.   SANADA accepts.   Great respect between both men.    Crowd applauds.

Okada takes the mic.   He thanks SANADA and hopes they can do it again at the Tokyo Dome.

He calls out Ibushi.   Ibushi comes out and says he wants to hold both titles.   He officially challenges Okada at Wrestle Kingdom.
