LUCHA TRIOS MATCH & MORE: RING OF HONOR TV REPORT

By Taylor Millard on 2019-10-11 16:30:00

Ring of Honor on Sinclair Broadcast Group TV - Week of 10/5-10/12

The episode starts with a highlight package featuring RUSH and the luchadores of ROH.

Ian Riccaboni and Quinn McKay welcome us to the show saying this week's episode will focus on the luchadores and note RUSH is the new world champ.

First match is RUSH and Barbaro Cavernario from ROH/CMLL Global Wars Espectacular.

RUSH kicks away an outstretched had from Cavernario.  Cavernario attempts two shoulder tackles without success while RUSH insults his mother. The pair exchange arm drags and dropkicks, then square off again. Caprice Coleman mentions on commentary the relationship ROH has with CMLL and New Japan because it means the cream of the crop is brought to ROH shows.

RUSH is able to take down Cavernario with a knee to the face and bows to the crowd. RUSH beats Cavernario in the corner, slams him down, and pretends to take his head off and punt it into the crowd.

Cavernario gets three clotheslines and a two count. Cavernario nails a series of moves on the outside, including a dive through the ropes from the ring apron and we go to break.

Back from break and Cavernario is still in control with RUSH down in the ring. He goes for a splash but RUSH blocks it then nails a punch.  RUSH with The Plate of the Conquerer and Riccaboni says it's a Matt Taven move. RUSH is bleeding from the shoulder but he goes El Tranquilo in the ring.

RUSH slams Cavernario in the outside barrier, grabs a chair, but the ref takes it away. Back in the ring RUSH nails Cavernario with a big boot but Cavernario does the worm, turns and charges. RUSH hits a belly to back suplex into the corner and The Bull's Horns for the win.

Winner: RUSH

McKay and Riccaboni preview Glory by Honor this weekend with the semi-final and finals in the #1 Contender Tournament. Jay Lethal vs. Marty Scurll is one semi-final while PCO vs. Dalton Castle is the other.

Alex Shelley and Jonathan Gresham also face each other at Glory by Honor.

Video package for the tournament with comments from Dalton Castle and Marty Scurll. Castle talks about how he'll outdo everyone in the tournament. Scurll notes all the things he's done in wrestling but has never been ROH champ and needs it because it means everything. He also notes it might be his last shot.

Commercial break.

Riccaboni and McKay welcome us back from break pushing ROHPROSHOP.com before mentioning ROH sent Matt Taven, Kenny King, Jay Brisco, and Delirious went to CMLL to take part in the Grandprix.

Team CMLL won the match which led to Global Wars Espectacular where a six man happened between Jeff Cobb, Jonathan Gresham, and Jay Lethal versus Stuka Jr. Triton, and Caristico. A highlight package from that match is shown where Team ROH beat Team CMLL when Gresham pinned Triton.

McKay and Riccaboni welcome us back where RUSH's first title defense is announced against Jeff Cobb on October 27th as part of the Honor United Tour.

They then show a highlight package from Global Wars Espectacular where Villain Enterprises took on and beat Team CMLL before going to break.

We return for the main event between Volador Jr., Stuka Jr, and Caristico vs. Rey Bucanero, Okumura, and Hechicero in a six man tag.

Hechicero and Stuka Jr. start off with both focusing on the wrists in the middle of the ring. Hechicero works on submissions and gets two quick pin attempts but Stuka Jr. escapes.

Rey Bucanero and Volador Jr. are tagged in, then Caristico and Okumura are brought in. They exchange punches and kicks and we go to a commercial.

Caristisco is in full control taking out Okumura then bringing in both Stuka Jr. and Hechicero.  The rudos are in control and Hechicero gets a two count on Volador Jr.

Stuka Jr. is able to get control with a monkey flip and tags in Volador Jr. The technicos do stereo dives onto the outside and hype up the crowd with chants of, “Lucha!”

Hechicero gets in the ring and nails Volador Jr. with a knee. Bucanero with a twisting senton for a two count. Caristico tags in but is knocked down with a kick from Bucnero.

A brief break and Caristico takes down Bucanero and Okumura with headscissors, then tags in Stuka Jr.  A catapult into the corner and a two count for the technicos.

Hechicero knocks Stuka Jr. into the air and locks in a sleeper. Stuka Jr. get a torpedo splash but the count is broken up. Everyone exchanges big moves but Volador Jr. gets the win after hitting a Volador Special on Hechicero.

Winner: Volador Jr., Stuka Jr. and Caristico.

We go to credits.
