Former WWE, WCW and World Class star Samu Anoa'i is scheduled to undergo a liver transplant today in Pennsylvania. Anoa'i announced in October 2018 that he was battling stage four liver cancer.
Over the course of his run in professional wrestling, Samu, 56 years old worked as Samula, the third member of the Wild Samoans and headlined Madison Square Garden against Bob Backlund. As Samu, he worked World Class and the NWA/WCW with Fatu (later Rikishi) as the Samoan SWAT Team, later returning to the WWF with Fatu as the Headshrinkers. He later worked for the original ECW as one half of the Samoan Gangsta Party. He currently operates WXW out of Allentown, PA and has made appearances for MLW over the last several years.
