WWE LAUNCHING ITS OWN PODCAST NETWORK

By Mike Johnson on 2019-08-22 12:02:00

The Hollywood Reporter reported today that WWE is teaming with Endeavor to create their own podcast network.  This is a story that has been floating around for months as WWE became very aware of the success of shows featuring Bruce Prichard, Taz and others.

Endeavor Audio, which will be partnering with WWE, already produce and distribute the Nikki and Brie Bella podcast, which one would assume would eventually fall under the WWE Podcast Network umbrella.  While retired from WWE in-ring action, the Bellas remain under contract and are involved in WWE reality TV fare.

"Storytelling is at WWE's core and we are eager to add the audio genre to our portfolio," WWE Advanced Media executive Vice President Jayar Donlan told THR. "Partnering with Endeavor Audio, an expert in podcasting, will enable us to provide our fans with unique content and reach new audiences across the platform."

One would think that a video version of the podcasts would be an easy fit for the WWE Network, which ran their own version of The Bruce Prichard-Conrad Thompson "Something To Wrestling" podcast for a season on the WWE Network.  There was an agreement in place to produce a second season this past Spring, but still has yet to happen.

There is no timetable for the launch of the podcast network noted in the Hollywood Reporter article, which you can read by clicking here.
