We were sent the following press release:

Host Montel Williams & WWE Superstar Lacey Evans Kick Off Season 19 This Week of Popular Home Improvement Series, Military Makeover, with Brand Partners The Home Depot, Simon, and Goodman Manufacturing.

The Military Makeover team will be renovating the home of Gold Star Widow Cody Patron, whose home was severely damaged last year during Category 5 Hurricane Michael in Panama City, FL. First episode airs August 30th on Lifetime TV. All aired episodes can be found atwww.militarymakeover.tv.

DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (August 22, 2019) – In true Military Makeover style, host Montel Williams, cast and crew, special guest WWE Superstar Lacey Evans and equally passionate national brands, The Home DepotSimonand Goodman Manufacturinggive the gift of a beautifully renovated home to Cody Patron, a Gold Star Widow.

On August 6, 2011, Cody Patron’s world came crashing down when she received word that after more than a decade in the Marine Corps serving in an EOD unit, her husband, Sergeant Daniel J. Patron, was killed in Sangin Valley, Afghanistan. Daniel dedicated himself to saving as many lives as he possibly could, earning The Purple Heart and The Bronze Star Medal for his heroic service. Daniel’s wife, Cody, was left to pick up the pieces as a single mom when tragedy struck again in October 2018 when the Patron home was devastated by the catastrophic Category 5 Hurricane Michael.

The Patron makeover kicked off with JDog, a long-time veteran and military-owned company, hauling away demolition materials. The Military Makeover team then arrived armed with The Home Depot building supplies, Tarkett floors, Goodman air conditioners, MyComputerCareer systems, furniture and other gifts from all the generous partnerships that the show cultivates. Local companies, volunteers from the community, and WWE Superstar Lacey Evans, a veteran of the U.S. Marines, stepped up to lend a hand in support of the Patron family throughout the renovation process. Other brand partners such as Simon treated the Patron family to a one day Simon shopping experience at Potomac Mills. The final reveal unites cast, national brand partners and volunteers, creating a literal “community celebration” of support for the change they created together.

“In the nearly three decades since I retired from the Navy, I’ve never really taken the uniform off because standing up for those who are serving now and those who have served has been the greatest honor of my professional career.” - Montel Williams, Host and Co-Executive Producer

“We are so fortunate to be able to cultivate strong partnerships with national brands, non-profits, and local military communities to make each makeover better than the next.”Mark Alfieri, Founder and CEO of BrandStar
