As noted earlier this week on PWInsider.com, World Wrestling Entertainment is holding a tryout in Shanghai, China. Today, WWE disclosed the following names were taking part in the tryout:
*Jiang Zhu, a 6-foot-3, 227-pounder Chinese talent who has wrestled for Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan.
*Boxer Peng Qu, who stands 6-foot-3, weighs 210 pounds and holds a 14-2-1 professional record, considered to be one of China’s top boxers.
*Sojiro Higuchi pka Jiro Kuroshio, who has wrestled extensively in Japan.
*Alexis Lee, a 23-year-old billed as Singapore’s first female wrestler.
*Yuan Gao, who wrestles for China’s We Love Wrestling.
*Singapore Pro Wrestling co-founder “The Statement” Andrew Tang.
*The Queen of Philippine Wrestling” Vernice Crystal Gabriel. Gabriel was at one point slated for the 2nd annual Mae Young Classic but was later removed from the tournament.
Serena Deeb, Jessica Carr, Xia Li, and Jeremy Borash from WWE are over for the tryouts in Shanghai.
