SECOND COMPETITOR NAMED FOR ROH TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT

By Mike Johnson on 2019-07-11 09:29:00

ROH issued the following:

2019 TOP PROSPECT TOURNAMENT ENTRANT: DANTE CABALLERO

Dante Caballero left behind a life of wealth and prestige in Puerto Rico nearly four years ago to pursue his dream of achieving stardom in pro wrestling. As a participant in Ring of Honor’s upcoming Top Prospect Tournament, Caballero is now one step closer to making that dream a reality.

Born Edgardo A. Colon in the town of Orocovis, he comes from a strong political dynasty. Rather than continuing his family’s legacy, however, he became obsessed with creating his own. He changed his name, relocated to Washington, D.C., and enrolled in the MCW Pro Wrestling Training Center.

After making his in-ring debut in 2016, Caballero quickly established himself as a major player in MCW, one of the top independent promotions in the country. A former MCW TV Champion and two-time MCW Tag Team Champion, Caballero won the MCW Heavyweight Title last July and is days away from reaching his one-year anniversary as champion.

The 6-foot, 212-pound Caballero furthered his training at the ROH Dojo and has been one of the standouts in Future of Honor. Now he has his sights set on the TPT, the winner of which receives an ROH contract and a shot at the ROH World Television Title.

The Top Prospect Tournament begins on July 21 at Mass Hysteria in Lowell, Mass. Join us live in personor streaming for HonorClub to watch first-round tournament action as well as matches featuring the top ROH stars!

Past TPT winners include current ROH World Champion Matt Taven, and TPT alumni include former ROH World Champions Dalton Castle, Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly, as well as Silas Young, Adam Page, Jonathan Gresham and Punishment Martinez, among others.
