I want to send my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Lyle C. Williams, a well known and beloved photographer from the Philadelphia/New Jersey independent scene who did a lot for Combat Zone Wrestling and tons to assist independent promoters and wrestlers over the years. Williams passed away following a short illness. He was a United States military veteran who absolutely loved photography and would shoot ringside until fairly recently when issues with his knees prevented him from being able to continue. He was very much one of the largest pieces of connective tissue for a lot of independent wrestling in the Philly area and there were countless tributes to him from WWE stars on down over the last 24 hours. He was a genuinely nice and wonderful person and he'll be missed. Our deepest condolences again to his family and friends. He won't be forgotten.
Lyle Williams was such an awesome guy! Hard working, loved wrestling & he was an excellent photographer. I always enjoyed seeing him and catching up. Lyle- you were loved by many and you’ll be missed sorely. Rest In Peace, my friend. ?? https://t.co/AXetTeYNQy

From time-to-time he’d send me various shots from matches of mine, and he never ever had to. He did it because he knew I appreciated it and because he loved wrestling.
I’m so grateful that he did.
Rest well, and THANK YOU.
Godspeed, Lyle. pic.twitter.com/VWmGeTnWGp

Wrestling lost a huge fan today. I hadn’t seen Lyle Williams in many years but I still remember his kindness and enthusiasm for this industry.

He took a lot of pride in capturing moments from every show he could make it to and sharing them with everyone.
