WWE NXT UK REPORT: BUILDING TO DUNNE/WALTER, A NEW WRESTLER DEBUTS . . . SEND IN JACK STARZ, AND MORE

We are in Glasgow, Scotland and your announcers are Nigel McGuinness and Vic Joseph.

Match Number One: Piper Niven versus Jamie Hader

They lock up and Hader with an arm bar and adds a chin lock. Piper with a chin lock using Hader’s arm for more pressure. Hader pulls the hair and slaps Niven. Niven with a head butt and cross body. Piper with a cannonball into the corner and a Michinoku Driver for the three count.

Winner: Piper Niven

We go to a press conference with Toni Storm and she is asked about Nina Samuels’ comments. Toni says you are playing Russian Roulette with your career if you bring up her family. Toni says she wants this match more than Nina and she will go to Sid and Johnny to give her a title match. If she wants her fifteen minutes of fame, she’s got it.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Sid Scala is asked about next week’s title match. Sid says that is going to be the biggest match in NXT UK history, but he is excited about this week’s qualifying matches.

Kassius Ohno stops by and he says he is not feeling good. He says the fans love NXT UK because of the authentic British Wrestling but he got overlooked for these qualifying matches. He wants to know how they will fix that.

Sid says he will talk to Johnny Saint and get back to him next week.

Ohno says he is looking forward to hearing from them.

Match Number Two: Ligero versus Jordan Devlin in a Number One Contender’s Fatal Four Way Qualifying Match

They lock up and Devlin with a wrist lock but Ligero with an escape and arm wringer. Devlin with a kick and forearm to the back followed by a side head lock. Devlin takes Ligero to the mat and gets a near fall. Ligero bridges out of a cover but Devlin gets more near falls. Ligoer with a sunset flip power bomb for a near fall. Devlin with a shoulder tackle but Ligero with a catapult and drop kick to send Devlin to the floor.

Ligero with a pescado onto Devlin. Ligero gets a near fall. Ligero with a kick and forearms. Devlin trips Ligero and sends him to the floor. Devlin sends Ligero into the ringside barrier and apron before they return to the ring. Devlin with a back breaker and then he stomps on Ligero while the referee checks on Ligero. Devlin with an elbow to the top of the head. Devlin with a back elbow. Devlin stomps on Ligero and the referee warns him.

Devlin with a forearm to the back. Ligero with a forerm and chops followed by a kick and back heel kick. Ligero misses a knee and Devlin with a uranage and standing moonsault for a near fall. Devlin with another elbow to the top of the head. Devlin with a knee to the back and a knee drop to the midsection. Devlin with a seated abdominal stretch into an arm bar. Devlin with forearms across the chest. Devlin rubs his elbow into the ribcage. Ligero with a back elbow and a lateral press to counter a belly-to-back suplex attempt.

Ligero with a clothesline and running forearm into the corner. Ligero goes to the turnbuckles and hits a missile drop kick for a near fall. Ligero goes to the turnbuckles but he has trouble due to the damage already done to him. Ligero avoids Devlin and then gets a rollup for a near fall. Ligero with a super kick and Ligero goes back up top. Ligero goes for a frog splash but Devlin gets his knees up and Devlin gets a near fall.

Devlin with a slam and Devlin goes to the turnbuckles but Ligero gets his feet up on a moonsault attempt. Devlin falls through the ropes to the floor. Ligero sends Devlin back into the ring and Ligero goes to the ropes but Devlin drops Ligero across the top rope and Devlin goes for a suplex into the ring but Ligero with a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Ligero with a splash off the top rope for a near fall.

Devlin with a kick to the back when Ligero goes for a springboard move. Devlin with a Saito suplex for the three count.

Winner: Jordan Devlin

After the match, Jordan Devlin is asked about his victory. Jordan says this match shouldn’t have happened tonight. He does not need a qualifier to get a number one contender’s match. He does not need a number one contender’s match because he is the number one contender. He does not care if it is Joe Coffey or the other two who will be in the match. Whether you are a joker or a king, you still fall short to the ace.

We go to a video package for WALTER. He says there might be more pressure on the champion than the challenger, but he does not feel the pressure. He is the ring general because he is in charge. He says he does not feel pressure. It would have been a disappointment if he had not won in New York. Beating Pete Dunne was difficult, but enjoyable. He enjoys good competition and Pete brought it. He agreed to give Pete a rematch because Pete was the first to make the step to him and make the challenge to him. He says that he has seen Pete training harder than ever for this match. WALTER says he wants to beat Pete at his best. He likes that Pete will be prepared but WALTER says he will be prepared too.

We see Ilja Dragunov in the back as we go to commercial.

We are back and Trent Seven and Tyler Bate are asked about Pete Dunne’s match. Tyler says that Pete will win back the title in the biggest rematch in history. Trent says there will be a rematch that will be greater and that is James Drake and Zack Gibson doing the right thing by putting the tag titles up against them. As long as they get their rematch, it is a matter time before they get the titles back.

Match Number Three: Ilja Dragunov versus Jack Starz

They lock up and Dragunov with a wrist lock and Irish whip followed by a clothesline into the corner. Dragunov sends Starz into the turnbuckles and connects with an elbow and forearm. Dragunov sends Starz into another turnbuckle and connects with a forearm to the back. Dragunov with an Irish whip and he runs into a boot from Starz. Starz with European uppercuts but Dragonov with a forearm to the back.

Dragunov with a running clothesline into the corner followed by a second one and then he misses a clothesline but hits a clothesline with the other arm. Starz sends Dragunov to the apron and Dragunov with an elbow and slingshot clothesline. Starz with a drop kick and half nelson and chin lock but Dragunov powers out of the hold and Dragunov with a chop and back senton.

Dragunov with Torpedo Moscow for the three count.

Winner: Ilja Dragunov

Mark Andrews and Noam Dar are in the back and they are asked about their rematch. Dar says the last match was a nightmare and while he hasn’t said the nicest things about Mark, Mark showed why he wants to be in NXT UK against the best.

Mark says neither were happy with the finish of their last match but there will be a winner this time.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Four: Killer Kelly versus Xia Brookside

They lock up and Kelly with a wrist lock and she takes Xia to the mat. Xia tries to escape the wrist lock but Kelly holds on and takes Xia back to the mat. Xia uses the ropes for a reversal into a side head lock take down. Kelly with a head scissors. Xia is able to escape. Kelly with a side head lock take down and Xia with a head scissors.

Kelly is able to escape. They shake hands and then Jinny’s music plays and she makes her way to the stage. Jinny is joined by Jazzy Gabert.

Xia and Kelly talk strategy as Gabert makes her way to the ring. Kelly backs away and Xia is on her own. Gabert with a forearm and power slam.

No Contest

We go to commercial.

We are back and Johnny Saint announces that Toni Storm will defend the NXT UK Women’s Championship against Nina Samuels in two weeks.

Match Number Five: Dave Mastiff versus Wolfgang in a Number One Contender’s Qualifying Match

They lock up and Mastiff with a side head lock and shoulder tackles. Mastiff with a power slam after catching Wolfgang on a leap frog attempt. Mastiff gets a near fall. Mastiff with a forearm and waist lock. Wolfgang backs Mastiff into the corner and connects with an elbow and forearms. Mastiff with an Irish whip and Wolfgang with a back elbow and he goes to the turnbuckles and hits a flying shoulder tackle for a near fall.

Wolfgang with an arm bar into a full nelson. Mastiff powers out of the hold but Wolfgang with a forearm. Wolfgang returns to the full nelson. Mastiff breaks out of the hold and flips Wolfgang to the mat and Mastiff follows with a senton. Wolfgang backs Mastiff into the corner and connects with punches.

Wolfgang with a cross body into the corner and he goes up top. Wolfgang with a double sledge off the turnbuckles and then he gets Mastiff on his shoulders for a slam. Wolfgang goes up top and misses a swanton. Mastiff with a running cross body and a German suplex. Mastiff sets for a cannonball and hits it. Mastiff gets the three count.

Winner: Dave Mastiff

After the match, Mastiff is about to be interviewed by Mark and Joe Coffey attack Mastiff and Wolfgang joins in and attack Mastiff with super kicks and clotheslines. Joe and Mark hold Mastiff on the mat and Wolfgang goes up top and hits a swanton onto Mastiff.

We go to credits with a video package for Pete Dunne and WALTER.
