WWE SUPERSTAR: HOW TO BECOME A PROFESSIONAL

By Kendall Jenkins on 2019-05-07 11:38:00

WWE wrestling is a well-known phenomenon across the country. Whenever you see the takedown moves, the excitement, and the drama, it will get your adrenaline flowing. A lot of people who are fans of the WWE wrestling sport often wonder what it takes to become one of the superstars. It may look very glamorous on TV, but the reality is becoming these professionals require a lot of hard work and dedication.

If all the hard sweats and practice does not scare you away, then here are the steps that you would need to take to become a professional WWE superstar.

Getting in shape

If you are going to take down your opponents, then you better be in shape. That means it’s time to hit the gym and start cardio training and lifting weights. On average, these athletes will train about six days in a week to get those huge bulging muscles. In fact, some of these athletes would go above and beyond to improve their training by boosting testosterone levels. This can be done through healthy supplements and other modalities.

Eating right

If you love french fries and hamburger, then it’s time to give them up. This is mainly because, in order to be in top condition to wrestle and fight, you will need to eat right. This would entail eating plenty of lean meat, healthy proteins, fruits, vegetables, and nuts. If you’re constantly eating fatty and oily food, it can cause your body to accumulate fat which can lead to constant fatigue and lack of strength.

Taking an acting class

During a WWE match, there is always some kind of drama that leads to a fight. These athletes are not just wrestlers, but they are also actors. They are able to bring the drama to the ring to stimulate excitement and rage. In order to effectively release those energies, it’s vital to take an acting class to improve your technique.

Learning the art of wrestling

Wrestling is very complex and requires a lot of strength and skills. It’s best to hire a wrestling coach to teach you the right form and technique as well as creating a strategy and plan to get you to where you need to be. A lot of times, people who wrestled in high school and college often have an easier time to get into the WWE because they have mastered the art of wrestling. However, if you have never wrestled in college or high school, you can still catch up. All you need is passion, discipline, and a good coach, and you are on your way to an extraordinary career of being a WWE superstar.

Create an Identity

After you have completed everything above, it’s time to create an identity. If your real name is Michael Smith, you are definitely not going to be using that name in the ring. Our ordinary names are often boring and mundane, that is why a lot of wrestlers would create another identity that is like the alter ego. They would also create an exciting name that goes with their identity, that way people will go crazy when they see them on stage. Now, let’s be real here, do you think The Rock or Hulk Hogan is their real name? This is definitely an alter ego on the ring.

Join the WWE

Keep in mind that the WWE will require three years of wrestling experience. If you have the experience and all the requirements, then it’s time to try out for the WWE. You can go to their website, and look for posts about job openings. They have regional tryouts on a constant basis where wrestlers can showcase their skills. You can also send videos or try out for their reality TV show called "Tough enough." The show follows wrestlers in their journey to compete for a contract. The WWE receives over 2000 wrestling application every week, so the competition is fierce. However, if this is your passion and goal, then don’t give up. The idea is to persevere and work hard for what you want.

Networking

The most important part of any career is networking. You want to get to know as many wrestlers, promoters, or anyone that has the inside scoop of the WWE. The more promoters, recruiters, and people you know, the better your chances are of becoming a WWE superstar. This is mainly because they can help set you apart from other applicants. For example, if you have sent in a video of your skills, it’s probably hidden underneath a pile with dozens of other wrestlers. If you network with the right people, that individual can approach the WWE recruiter to remind him to look for your video. The recruiter will go through the pile and take out your video and watch it. That way, it gives you the chance of being in front of the application process.

Becoming a WWE superstar can be very competitive. It requires a lot of hard work and dedication, but at the end of the day, it’s worth it. This is mainly because you’re doing something that you are passionate about, and it’s worth to keep doing it if it makes you happy. Keep in mind that you may face a lot of failures and setbacks, but these are wonderful life experience to have. The goal is to learn from your mistake and to keep going. Make sure to network, find a mentor, and to keep yourself healthy and happy. If you love what you are doing, eventually, you will accomplish your goal in becoming a WWE superstar.
