Cody vs. his older brother, former WWE and WCW star Dustin Rhodes (aka Goldust) is official for the 5/25 All Elite Wrestling event in Las Vegas. The match had been hinted at for some time on AEW YouTube videos building to the promotion’s debut event. It was made official in the latest edition of Cody’s Road to Double or Nothing YouTube series episode, which was just released:
The match will be the first time the two brothers (Cody, 33 and Dustin, 50) have ever wrestled in a singles bout outside of WWE (Goldust vs. Stardust took place at WWE's Fastlane 2015) and obviously signals the end of Dustin’s WWE run, which had also been expected for some time. Dustin is appearing next week for MCW in Maryland, which obviously could not have happened if he was still signed to the company and was not at Wrestlemania 35, which is the ultimate “all hands-on deck” weekend for WWE, instead making an appearance in Toronto.
The two brothers held the WWE Tag Team Championships together as Goldust and Stardust on two occasions.
The updated lineup for All or Nothing on 5/25 features:
*Kenny Omega vs. Chris Jericho.
*AAA Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks vs. Pentagon Jr. & Rey Fenix.
*Cody vs. Dustin Rhodes.
*Pac (fka Neville) vs. Adam Page.
*Kylie Rae vs. Nyla Rose vs. Dr. Britt Baker.
*SCU vs. CIMA and two competitors to be announced.
*Over the Budget Battle Royal: Sonny Kiss, Kip Sabian, Brandon Cutler, Ace Romero, Glacier, Brian Pillman Jr., Sunny Daze, MJF, Joey Janela and more to be announced.
Double or Nothing is officially sold out. The promotion will also be running 6/29 in Daytona Beach Florida and 7/13 in Jacksonville, Florida. AEW is currently negotiating a TV deal that Jim Ross, who has signed on with the company, has stated will be with a major cable network.
