The WWE Performance Center was profiled by Sports Business Journal, looking at the PC's link to creating the next generation of WWE stars. It noted that Canyon Cemen was the gatekeeper for the PC as talents have to gain his attention in order to be hired or at least be invited to one of the eight tryouts the company runs a year. Matt Bloom said that he looks for talents who carry an ego, because those are the talents who will believe they can break through and carry the load.
The piece also profiled a number of current developmental talents, including Velveteen Dream who notes that he tries to remain within character at all times, Kacy Catanzano discussing her American Ninja Warrior and former ROH star Punishment Martinez, who is currently being re-branded as Damien Priest.
