MLW FUSION REPORT: LA PARK VS CALLIHAN, PILLMAN VS FRIEDMAN, AND MORE

We start off with a look back at last week’s Battle Riot II that saw Tom Lawlor successfully defend the MLW World Title and LA Park win Battle Riot.

We are in New York City and your announcers are Jim Cornette and Rich Bocchini.

Match Number One: Brian Pillman Jr. versus Maxwell Jacob Friedman

They lock up and Holliday grabs Pillman’s leg and Friedman pushes him. Hammerstone with a forearm to Pillman’s back against the ropes. Pillman with a side head lock and shoulder tackle for a near fall. Pillman with another shoulder tackle and a near fall. Holliday trips Pillman and the referee sends Hammerstone and Holliday to the back. Friedman punches Pillman and kicks him in the midsection. Pillman with a drop kick and he teases a drop kick into the corner but stops short when Friedman covers up. Pillman slaps Friedman. Pillman with an O’Connor Roll and Pillman is sent shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Friedman with Divorce Court and he slams the arm into the mat. Friedman stands on the arm and stomps on the wrist.

Friedman wraps the arm in the ropes and kicks Pillman in the arm. Friedman with a snap mare and knees to the arm. Friedman with a top wrist lock. Pillman with chops and Friedman with an arm wringer and back senton onto the arm for a near fall. Friedman with a wrist clutch suplex. Friedman with elbows to the injured arm.

Friedman chops Pillman and they go to the turnbuckles. Pillman punches Friedman off the turnbuckles and Pillman with a cross body but he cannot capitalize. Pillman with chops followed by a European uppercut and forearm. Pillman with a super kick. Pillman is unable to Irish whip Friedman because Friedman holds on to the ropes. Pillman with a power slam for a near fall. Pillman sets for a drop kick into the corner but Friedman pulls the referee in front of him and Pillman stops. Friedman with an eye poke and double stomp to the arm for a near fall.

Friedman argues with the referee and Pillman with an inside cradle for the three count.

Winner: Brian Pillman Jr.

After the match, Friedman is asked about his loss but he cuts off Kaci Lennox. He says he does not have time for her and he says that was a fluke.

We take a look at Tom Lawlor’s press conference from after Battle Riot II. He talks about how he will face anyone from around the world. He says the bigger they are the harder they fall when it comes to LA Park. We see Contra attack Lawlor.

We go to commercial.

We are back with comments from earlier today from Salina de la Renta. She says they are the forefront in the world of Latin Culture and Sports. She will be the executive producer of MLW Fusion the week of May 4th. She tells everyone to stay tuned for when LA Park will challenge Tom Lawlor.

We go to comments from Sami Callihan. Sami says he left because he was not the Sami Callihan of old. He got his ass kicked by LA Park and he has been trying to find himself and figure out who he is. He says that now he is back, he will cause chaos, piss people off, and beat LA Park. Sami says he saw someone who is like him, Mance Warner. Sami wants to face Mance next week.

We go to commercial.

We are back with comments from Alex Hammerstone and Richard Holliday. Alex talks about getting revenge on the Hart Foundation. Richard says Max will recover and they can go to the club. Alex wants his revenge.

They walk up the stairs and Alex realizes they were being recorded.

Match Number Two: Myron Reed and Rich Swann versus Lance Anoa’i and Jimmy Yuta

Reed and Yuta start things off. They lock up and Yuta with a wrist lock and snap mare followed by a knee drop to the arm. Yuta with a wrist lock. Reed with a clean break but it is a ruse and he connects with a forearm. Yuta with forearms and kicks as they go across the ring. The referee keeps Swann from getting in the ring while Yuta continues to kick Reed.

Swann tags in and so does Lance. Lance blocks a rana attempt and Swann gets back to his feet and he punches Lance. Lance with a drop kick. Lance with a back body drop that rotates Swann face first to the mat followed by a moonsault for a near fall. Lance with a chop and then he chops Swann in the corner. Yuta tags in and chops Swann. Swann rakes the eyes and Reed chokes Yuta while Swann distracts the referee. Reed tags in and they hit a double suplex. Reed gets a near fall. Reed with a forearm and he gets a near fall. Reed argues with the referee over the speed of his count.

Swann tags in and Swann comes off the turnbuckles with a double sledge to the arm. Yuta with a punch but Swann chops Yuta in the corners. Reed tags in and they hit a double belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Swann tags in and Reed with a snap mare and Swann with a mule kick. Reed with a slingshot leg drop and Swann with a senton. Swann with a crossface to Yuta and then he kicks Yuta in the back. Yuta with punches. Swann rakes the eyes and backs him into the corner. Reed tags in and kicks Yuta. Yuta lands on his feet on a double suplex attempt. Yuta back drops Reed and arm drags Swann. Lance tags in and punches Swann and hits a drop kick on Reed while hitting a Samoan drop on Swann. Lance with running hip strikes to Reed and Swann. Lance with a super kick and uranage. Lance goes up top and misses a 450 splash. Reed with a running cutter from the ramp for a near fall.

Yuta sends Swann to the floor and Yuta goes for a pescado but Swann with a low blow as Yuta lands. Reed with a slingshot codebreaker followed by a splash to Lance’s back. Swaan with a 450 knee drop and Reed with a 450 splash for the three count.

Winners: Myron Reed and Rich Swann

We go to Mance Warner who shows of his albino moose. He says he has fought men in moving trucks on the road. If you put LA Park in one of those trucks.

Mance is interrupted and asked about Sami’s challenge. Mance says when you go to the ring with thumbs up and thumbs down, uh uh. It is kneepad up and kneepad down. He will fight Sami and then he goes for beers.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Tom Lawlor says for 22 years, he has been putting his health and body on the line because he wants to call himself a champion. Tom says he can do that because he is your world champion. He has suffered his jaw broken, injured his leg, and hand. He did it all because he had to win a match. None of that was as bad as he felt when Jacob Fatu came crashing off the cage to give him internal injuries. He hurt his inside, but he did not hurt his guts. You and your cronies will feel pain, but it won’t be for long.

Salina de la Renta says the main event cannot happen because Jimmy Havoc had a paper cut and cannot make it. She makes an open challenge for LA Park.

Match Number Three: LA Park (with Salina de la Renta) versus Sami Callihan

Park attacks Sami as he enters the ring and Park with a power slam. They go to the floor and Park Irish whips Sami into the guardrail and punches Callihan. Park with a boot to the head and Callihan punches Park. Park punches back. Park hits Callihan with an umbrella and Callihan hits back. Callihan throws the mat on the floor at Park. Park sends Callihan into the guardrail and Park takes the pole for the VIP area and hits Callihan. Callihan hits Pakr back.

Park kicks Callihan in the head. Park hits Callihan with a chair a few times. Callihan is sent into the ramp to the ring. They exchange punches and Callihan gouges the eyes. Callihan sends Park into the ring post. Park sends Callihan into the ring post and Callihan chops Park. Park chops back and Callihan goes to the floor. Park sends Callihan lower groin area into the ring post. Park takes a belt from a fan and hits Callihan in the head with it.

Park blocks a kick and Park with a head butt and clothesline. Callihan kicks out and Park lands on the referee. Park picks up the referee and Callihan goes for a Mafia kick but misses Park and hits the referee. Park charges at Callihan and goes into the ring post when Callihan moves. Callihan hits Park in the head with the bat and the referee is still out.

Ricky Martinez and Hijo de LA Park attack Callihan. Mance Warner comes out and head butts Martinez. Hijo and Warner exchange punches. They exchange head butts. Hijo wit ha boot and Warner kicks Hijo. Hijo with a forearm to Warner. Low Ki makes his way to the ring and the attack on Warner starts at three on one. Callihan and Hijo battle. Daga comes out and he drop kicks Ki. Daga with super kicks to Hijo and Warner. Daga with a plancha onto everyone.

Callihan sees what is going on outside the ring and Park with a spear and the referee miraculously recovers at the right time to make the three count.

Winner: LA Park

After the match, Low Ki, Hijo de LA Park, Ricky Martinez and LA Park attack Callihan and Daga and Mance Warner get involved.

We see The Dynasty getting ready to leave the builidng but the Hart Dynasty drives away in Maxwell’s vehicle.
