PAIGE'S NEW WWE ROLE, WHY RAW STARS APPEARED ON SMACKDOWN, OWENS VS. ZAYN, ANNOUNCER RELEASED AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2019-04-10 11:47:00

Paige is being transitioned into a new role as a manager and will be debuting a team on Tuesday’s Smackdown Live in Montreal.

Daniel Bryan left NYC on Monday and was not at the Smackdown taping.   The Miz was not at the taping either, so when you add in the AJ Styles injury and Rey Mysterio still obviously being banged up, that explains why Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman appeared on the taping.

The dark match after Smackdown last night saw Kevin Owens defeat Sami Zayn.

Team Brooklyn on last night's episode of Smackdown were Kris Stadtlander (who based on what I've seen on the independents has a HUGE upside) and Karissa Rivera, who has competed for ROH in the past.

NXT star Kairi Sane was at last night’s Smackdown taping in Brooklyn.

There’s talk of Beth Phoenix doing some more wrestling going forward, including next month’s European tour.

Kane was not at either WWE TV taping this week.

Interviewer Dasha Fuentes was released this past Thursday.  We are told the company made the decision and it was not a case of Fuentes requesting a release.  Fuentes has been replaced on the Raw brand by Sarah Schreiber.  Fuente’s departure was first reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet.

Taz's post-Wrestlemania broadcast on CBS Sports Radio is now online and can be heard at this link.
