GLENN 'KANE' JACOBS PENNING BOOK ABOUT POLITICS & WRESTLING

By Mike Johnson on 2019-03-18 13:43:00

Former WWF Champion turned Mayor of Knox County, TN Glenn "Kane" Jacobs is working on a book about his life in professional wrestling and his movement into politics, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

The working title of the book, which is being planned for a November release, is "Mayor Kane: My Life in Wrestling and Liberty."

The former WWF Champion easily defeated his tombstoned opponent, Democrat Linda Haney in the Mayoral race, garnering 43,526 votes (66%) to Haney's 22,295 votes (34%) in August 2018.   Knox County has a population of 432,226, making it the third most populated county in Tennessee, according to the 2010 census.

According to his campaign website, Jacobs ran with the following goals as his primary focus:

  1. Committed to keeping taxes low
  2. Renewed focus on quality of education
  3. Continue to attract new jobs to the area
  4. Improve our roads and infrastructure
  5. Full and absolute transparency
  6. Work to create safer communities
  7. A fresh outlook on limited government

Jacobs, 51, has been with WWE since 1995, portraying Dr. Issac Yankem and the second incarnation of Diesel before hitting gold with his introduction as The Undertaker's demonic brother Kane in October 1997.   Over the course of his WWE run, he held the WWF title, the ECW title, the WWE Intercontinental Championship, the WWE Hardcore title, the WCW Tag Team titles, the WWF/WWE Tag Team Championships and many more.  He has appeared for the company last year at the Crown Jewel PPV, teaming with Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels and Triple H.

Jacobs is a long-time resident of the county and he and his wife own an insurance company locally.  Jacobs has long identified as a Libertarian and ran on the Republican ticket.

Prior to his WWE tenure, Jacobs wrestled for Jim Cornette's Smoky Mountain Wrestling as a heel in TN, competing under the ring name Unabomb (playing off of the Unabomber), teaming with Al Snow to feud with The Rock N' Roll Express.

There is no word yet how much of the book will be pro wrestling-related content vs. being politically oriented.  The book will be the first by Jacobs, although WWE has released a fictional "unauthorized history" of Kane as a paperback novel in 2005.
