DICK DALE PASSES AWAY

By Mike Johnson on 2019-03-18 10:36:00

Surf rock god and guitar great Dick Dale passed away yesterday at the age of 81.  Within professional wrestling circles, Dale is probably best known as the composer of Miserlou, a song that became embedded in pop culture forever when Quentin Tarantino utilized it as the theme for his phenomenal film Pulp Fiction

The original ECW soon adopted the anthem as their own, utilizing it under what soon became known as their Pulp Fiction montages on ECW's weekly TV, allowing for a number of stars to have promos in a short period of time:

ECW actually attempted to bring Dale in to perform the song at the first-ever ECW PPV, Barely Legal in 1997, but Dale was unavailable, ironically enough, because he was performing in Philadelphia at the same time the PPV would be on the air.

Our deepest condolences to Dale's legion of fans as well as his friends and family.
