NXT UK REPORT: STORM VERSUS RIPLEY, TRENT SEVEN, GRIZZLED YOUNG VETERANS, AND MORE

This week’s show starts off with a look at Toni Storm winning the NXT UK Women’s Championship from Rhea Ripley at Takeover UK and Rhea’s attempts to get her rematch. Tonight, they will meet again.

We are in Phoenix, Arizona and your announcers are Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness.

Match Number One: Flash Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews versus Joe Coffey and Mark Coffey
Webster and Mark start things off. They lock up and Mark with a waist lock take down and hip toss into the corner. Mark runs into a boot from Webster but Webster runs into a double hand chop from Mark. Joe tags in and Joe slams Webster back into the ring from the apron and then he stomps on the chest. Joe with another boot to the chest and then Webster with a drop kick and tag to Andrews. Andrews goes for a head scissors but Joe blocks it. Andrews gets to his feet and he kicks Joe and follows with a head scissors off the turnbuckles. Andrews slides under Joe and hits a jumping round kick.

Mark makes the tag and Andrews is hit with a pop up European uppercut. Mark with a kick and punch to Andrews. Mark with a slam to Andrews and he pushes Andrews into the turnbuckles. Joe tags in and he punches Andrews and kicks him.Joe with a punches to Andrews and they go into the corner where Joe continues with punches and a hard Irish whip. Mark tags in and punches Andrews in the midsection. Mark with a full nelson and then he tags Joe into the match. They hit a double chop on Andrews. Joe with a full nelson on Andrews. Joe drives Andrews to the mat and adds his body weight onto Andrews to add more pressure. Andrews drops down but Joe stops Andrews and hits a series of elbows followed by a kick.

Joe continues to keep Andrews from making the tag. Joe with a butterfly on Andrews and he spins him around and hits a butterfly suplex for a near fall. Joe with an Irish whip and he runs into an elbow. Andrews tries to make the tag and he gets away from Joe and tags Webster in. Webster with a springboard drop kick to Joe on the apron followed by European uppercuts. Webster with a cross body for a near fall. Webster with a quebrada to Mark and then he is sent to the apron by Mark. Webster with an enzuigiri and then Webster uses the ring post for a head scissors to Joe. Webster with a jumping knee and Andrews tags in. Andrews with an assisted 450 splash for a near fall. Joe sends Webster to the floor. Joe tags in and Andrews with chops and forearms. Joe blocks a DDT and Webster makes the tag. Webster wit a jumping knee and he helps Andrews hit a tornado DDT. Webster with a head butt to Mark and then Webster and Andrews with stereo planchas. Andrews tags in and he leaps over Joe. Joe with a splash in the corner.

Andrews counters a suplex with Stundog Millioniaire. Webster tags in and Mark catches Andrews off the apron and hits a suplex onto the apron. Joe gets his knees up to stop Webster. Joe with a running head butt to send Webster into the turnbuckles. Mark with a rolling elbow followed by a discus clothesline from Joe for the three count.
Winners: Mark Coffey and Joe Coffey

We are back with a video feature for Nina Samuels.

Jordan Devlin is back in Ireland fresh off another MVP performance in the World’s Collide Tournament. Travis Banks tried to stick his nose in his match against Noam Dar. Jordan tells Travis to grow eyes in the back of his head because he is not done by a long shot.

Kay Lee Ray says what makes her the best in NXT UK is her arrogance. She is awesome and Scottish. It is because she is smart. She needs one chance in the ring to show what she can do. She says she has been watching these girls and she knows what they can do. She will use that to get to the top. It does not matter about Toni Storm, Rhea Ripley, or any of the other girls in the division. It only matters that Kay Lee Ray is here.

Match Number Two: Trent Seven versus Shane Thorne

They lock up and Seven with a waist lock into a side head lock. Thorne gets to the ropes and he pie faces Seven on the break. They lock up and Seven with a wrist lock. Seven takes Thorne to the mat and holds on to the wrist lock. Thorne with a reversal and Seven with a reversal of his own. Thorne with a forearm and chop. Seven with a chop of his own.

Seven with more chops but Thorne with a head lock and shoulder tackle. Seven with a cross body for a near fall. Seven with a clothesline into the corner. Thorne with an Irish whip and Seven sends Thorne to the apron. Thorne drops Seven’s arm on the top rope. Thorne uses the ring post to add more damage to the shoulder. Thorne with kicks and face washes in the corner. Thorne with a wrist lock on the injured arm and he goes for an arm bar.

Seven with a punch and Thorne sends Seven to the mat and kicks him. Thorne gets a near fall. Thorne with a top wrist lock. Seven with a cutter and chop. Seven with another chop and DDT after getting Thorne to flinch. Seven with a running chop into the corner and a Dragon suplex and Emerald Frosion for a near fall. Seven with a figure four leg lock. Thorne slaps Seven to try to get out of the hold but Seven slaps back. Thorne rolls over to reverse but Seven rolls over and they are in the ropes. Neither releases the hold and both fall to the floor.

Seven with a chop and Thorne with pucnhes. Thorne with a back drop driver onto the apron and Thorne goes up top but Seven with a chop to stop Thorne. They exchange chops with Thorne on the turnbuckles. Seven climbs the turnbuckles and hits a superplex. Seven gets a near fall. Seven goes for a figure four again but Thorne counters with an inside cradle for a near fall. Seven with chops but Thorne with forearms. Seven with punches to the midsection and chops across the chest. Thorne with a European uppercut. Thorne with a knee to the midsection followed by a German suplex for a near fall.

Thorne goes for a crossface chicken wing but Seven with elbows. Seven with a clothesline for the three count.

Winner: Trent Seven

Jack Gallagher is in the back and he is asked about returning to NXT UK. Jack says NXT UK is making history. He says he might have to talk to Johnny Saint about this. Maybe they can have a cup of tea and discuss things.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Joseph Conners says he has a long history with Ligero. A few weeks ago, Ligero caught him on an off day. Joseph’s off days are over. He will show Ligero that he has been and will always be better.

The NXT UK Tag Team Champions Zack Gibson and James Drake make their way to the ring.

Gibson says he is Liverpool’s number one and his tag team partner is James Drake. Together, they are Grizzled Young Veterans. Together they are the very first NXT UK Tag Team Champions. For thirteen long, hard years, they travelled the world showing everyone what they already knew. Now they stand in front of you with these shiny tag titles. It proves that they are the best anywhere around the world.

Being the best and being the champs does have a couple of draw backs. He would rather be on his couch in Liverpool enjoying his life but instead he has been dragged against his will and flown halfway around the world to Phoenix to educate a room full of ignorant Yanks to show why British wrestling is the best and why the Grizzled Young Veterans are the best of the best.

Johnny Saint insisted that they make this trip because they should have the very best competition. James Drake and Zack Gibson are the best competition so the tag teams that want to be on top should be coming to them to challenge them. They have set a new standard.

Zack says to line up all of the teams because they are not impressed. Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan, whenever you are ready, you have to come challenge them because they are the standard bearers.

Danny tells Zack that he can say on behalf of everyone here, shut up. No one wants to hear what you have to say. Danny says he has said it a million times. He is proud to be British. He is proud to represent NXT, the NXT you say has no competition. Nothing makes him prouder than to call Oney Lorcan his tag team partner. Johnny Saint wants them to wait for next week, but why wait?

Burch and Lorcan enter the ring and Drake and Gibson leave the ring.

Gibson says something to Drake and they go to the back.

Next week, Tyler Bate faces Jack Gallagher.

We see Toni Storm and Rhea Ripley getting ready in the back as we go to commercial.

We are back and we are told that WALTER will face Kassius Ohno next week in addition to the NXT Tag Title Match.

Match Number Three: Toni Storm versus Rhea Ripley for the NXT UK Women’s Championship

Ripley attacks Storm before the bell rings and she connects with a series of forearms on Storm. Ripley sends Storm into the turnbuckles and the referee starts the match.

Ripley with forearms and shoulders in the corner. Ripley kicks Storm in the corner and she has some words for the referee. Ripley with more forearms and she sends Storm face first into the mat. Ripley has something to say to Storm as Toni struggles to get to her feet. Storm with a drop kick and she gets a near fall. Storm with a European uppercut and forearms.

Storm with aofrearms and the referee warns Storm. Ripley sends Storm into the ropes and Ripley pulls Storm to the floor. The referee starts his count as Ripley runs Storm’s back into the apron. Ripley returns to the ring to break the count. Ripley runs Storm into the ring post and then slams her onto the apron. Ripley gets a near fall.

Ripley with a forearm to the back and a kick to the back. Ripley with forearms as she continues to berate Storm. Ripley with a body scissors. Storm leans back to get a near fall but Ripley holds on to the body scissors. Storm leans back for another near fall. Ripley with a rollup for a near fall while holding on to the body scissors. Ripley with another near fall. Storm kicks Ripley after escaping the body scissors.

Storm with forearms but Ripley with a drop kick for a near fall. Storm slaps Ripley and connects with forearms. Ripley with a knee to the midsection to stop Storm. Ripley stands on Storm’s hair and the referee warns Ripley. Ripley with a boot to the midsection and she applies the reverse Cloverleaf. Storm rolls through to escape and it sends Ripley to the floor. Storm with a round kick to Ripley to send her to the floor. Storm with a suicide dive.

Storm sends Ripley back into the ring and hits a German suplex. Storm with a running hip into the corner followed by a German suplex for a near fall. Storm sets for Storm Zero but Ripley escapes and connects with forearms. Ripley with a short arm clothesline. Ripley with another short arm clothesline. Ripley goes for another short arm clothesline but Storm ducks it and hits a lungblower.

Storm and Ripley exchange foerarms as they get back to their feet. Ripley slaps Storm and Storm with a forearm against the ropes. Ripley with a jumping kick but Storm with a head butt and she gets a near fall. Storm goes to the turnbuckles but Ripley hits the ropes to crotch Storm. Ripley with a chop but Storm with a head butt. Ripley with a running kick to the head and it staggers Storm on the turnbuckles. Riley with a superplex and she gets a near fall. Ripley kicks Storm in the head and She slams Storm. Ripley with kicks in the corner. Ripley chops Storm and connects with forearms. Ripley misses a shoulder in the corner and hits the ring post shoulder first when Storm floats over. Storm with a float over into Storm Zero for the three count.

Winner: Toni Storm (retains Championship)
