Shane McMahon announced at the conclusion of tonight's WWE Smackdown Live episode that Kofi Kingson will challenge Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship in the main event of the 3/10 Fast Lane PPV in Cleveland, Ohio.
Kingston was slid into the Elimination Chamber match last week after Mustafa Ali suffered a concussion and was removed from the match. After wrestling for over an hour after during a Gauntlet match last week, Kingston captured the imagination of the audience, which wildly chanted for and supported him as Kingston nearly captured the WWE title in the Chamber match. With a huge surge of fan support behind the New Day member giving him the most momentum Kingston has had as a singles performer in years, he lands in a top match at the Fast Lane PPV.
Also announced for the Fast Lane PPV is The Usos vs. Shane McMahon and The Miz for the Smackdown Tag Team Championship.
