HOW TOTAL BELLAS HANDLED BRIE BELLA CONCUSSING LIV MORGAN

By Mike Johnson on 2019-02-18 12:06:00

On this week’s edition of Total Bellas, they covered Brie Bella accidentally concussing Liv Morgan and the aftermath backstage.

Over the course of the episode, it was established that Brie had been exhausted between appearing on Raw and Smackdown as well as traveling and doing appearances for other businesses she and sister Nikki Bella were involved in.

After showing the footage of Morgan being kicked in the face during a series of Yes Kicks, Brie noted in a voiceover that she just kicked Liv in the face.  She noted all she could think about was whether Liv was OK and how she needed to get her out of the ring, as they were on live TV and the show has to go on.  She noted it was hard not to look over to see of Liv was OK as she continued the match.

Backstage after the match, John Laurinaitis spoke with the Bellas as they walked, explaining that “it was nobody’s fault” and that what happened was that Morgan was rocking back and forth as she sold the kicks and one of the kicks connected.  He advised Brie should go and check on Liv and apologize for any mistakes that happen.  Nikki told Brie, who was beside herself, that she should just tell Morgan how she is feeling.

They showed footage of Morgan and Brie hugging but not of any conversation between them.

As Brie left her, she commented to Nikki, “She’s f**ing knocked.”

The remainder of the episode saw Brie upset about what happened, saying her heart didn’t know how to deal with this.  Nia Jax and Nikki explained that everyone tries to work safe, but “sh** happens” in professional wrestling.  Nikki noted that she broke her neck and things happen.  Nia told her not to dwell on it because you don’t want to it effect how you work in the ring.  She advised them to go relax.

Brie and Nikki went into a room, where Brie was leaning over a chair, trying to calm herself down as Nikki told her it would be OK.  She reminded Brie she didn’t mean for this to happen.  Brie responded that she kicked her twice.  Nikki told her that Liv didn’t have any broken bones in her face.  Injuries happen.  Brie didn’t mean to do it – it was an accident.

Daniel Bryan called to check on her as Brie commented that she had never been on this side of things, as it was the first time in 12 years of performing that she hurt someone.  Brie began crying and wondering whether she still wanted to be here, meaning WWE.

The episode did not go into the social media fallout of the incident but the preview for the next episode focused on Brie potentially being done with wrestling.
