Would it make sense to put Asuka in the main event at Wrestlemania with Ronda, Becky and Charlotte to unify both belts now that they only have one tag-team title and are going to feature the women across both brands (I believe I read that somewhere)? Not only that, but it plays off Ronda helping Asuka win the ladder match, plays off Ronda interrupting Asuka’s moment during her debut at last year’s Royal Rumble and also plays off Charlotte’s ending her streak last year? Just a thought.
It wouldn’t make sense for me, for a few reasons. One, they aren’t unifying the men’s Titles so it makes no sense to do that with the women. The tag belts are different since they don’t have many established female teams. Also, that would take a Title match away from WrestleMania, which I don’t like. And, down the road, Smackdown is moving to FOX so I think you need to have a champion on the show (and I don’t see Raw going without one).
What did you think of Becky saying I’m sorry to make sure she got her Wrestlemania match? I felt that they were re-imagining Stone Cold with her attack on Stephanie and her fight with the Baddest Bitch on the Planet, but Stone Cold would never apologize without it being a trick of some kind...like when he wore that suit once.
Stone Cold was a pure heel, that the fans got behind. Becky was a tweener who only went off because she was being overlooked and not given chances. So I am fine with her realizing that she went too far and was wrong. I have no problem with her apologizing for being out of line. She is similar in some ways to Austin but not an exact match.
Who from the WWE do you think would be perfect for AEW? I don’t want AEW to just sign aggravated talent or big stars in it for the money. I hope they sign talent that fits. To me, Dean Ambrose fits that and Randy Orton would be a perfect feud for Cody but I can’t see Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins in that mix. Did the WWE corrupt my mind with them?
I don’t even know what AEW is yet so it’s impossible to say who would be good fits. I have to see what their plans are before saying that. With that said, I don’t think that their fan base is looking for a Randy Orton vs. Cody feud, and I don’t think Orton has any desire to jump to a start up company.
What are the chances Kevin Owens comes back as a babyface? I think it would make some sense. Especially, if he goes after Lashley for putting him out of action.
I would be fine with it. Even when he was a heel he got pops. He could get them as a face, for sure.
Why does Vince McMahon prefer to shorten ring names to a single name? I think this will be a detriment in particular to Otis, because if you remove his last name and the reference to the Dozer nickname, the overall concept and presentation of his character loses something.
Vince likes to keep things easy for a lot of reasons, such as marketing. I don’t think losing the last name will hurt Otis at all. He will get over with the fun aspect that he brings to the product. Vince loves that kind of thing so I think that he will be fine.
