FIRST-EVER 'THEY LIVE' ACTION FIGURES REVEALED AT INTERNATIONAL TOY FAIR IN NYC

By Mike Johnson on 2019-02-16 10:23:00

Super 7, which produces some amazing action figure lines and toys revealed at the International Toy Fair in New York City that they have acquired the license for the iconic Roddy Piper-John Carpenter science fiction film They Live.  In the film, Piper portrays John Nada, a homeless man who uncovers an alien plot to subvert humanity via subliminal messages and fascist tactics.

Originally released in November 1988, the film topped the American box office for its debut, grossing $13,008,928 over the course of a four-week run in theaters.

The They Live action figures will be part of Super 7's Reaction line, which are designed to appear as if they had been released during the late 1970s-era in the style of the classic Kenner Star Wars toy line.  Showcased at the Toy Fair were prototypes of Piper as John Nada and two aliens:

Piper's fight scene with Keith David in They Live is one of the most celebrated in cinema history, to the point that it was once recreated shot by shot in an episode of South Park.

Super 7 has produced other toy lines related to professional wrestling in the past, including the Masked Republic lucha libre Reaction figure line as well as WWE M.U.S.C.L.E. toys.  H

On a personal note, here's to hoping one day Super 7 one day acquires the license to 1980s property "V" as well.
