In regard to his ongoing knee issues, AEW's Cody noted on Twitter that "surgery is a must":

Cody had previously noted he needed surgery, but had not updated on if and when that might take place. He noted today it would be taking place tomorrow.
In November 2018 while working for Ring of Honor, Cody noted he felt a pop in his knee while tossing a t-shirt into the crowd. He has wrestled hurt on it since, including the Wrestle Kingdom 13 bout he referenced in his Tweet, which was not well received.
