During the Ring of Honor tapings in Lakeland, Nick Aldis was asked about his role in the Crockett Cup by Caprice Coleman.
Aldis said he might as well participate in the tournament and that brought out Marty Scurll.
Scurll was asked to be his partner and they talked about their past and Marty said he would be honored to be in the same ring as Nick, but as his opponent for the NWA World Championship.
Aldis accepted the challenge.
