Alexa Bliss officially announced her return to the ring during Monday Night Raw, declaring that she will be competing in the 2019 WWE Women's Royal Rumble match.
The match will be Bliss' first official match for WWE since October 2018, when WWE pulled her from the ring shortly after she suffered a number of concussions.
Several weeks ago, Bliss appeared at the ACE Comic Con in Phoenix, Arizona and touched upon where things stood with her returning to action when she was asked about her in-ring status. Bliss stated that she's ready to return to the ring soon, but that WWE is being very cautious. Noting that being pulled from the ring and missing her announced WWE Evolution PPV bout against Trish Stratus was "heartbreaking", Bliss said that recent MRIs have come back good. She has been in the ring in the WWE Performance Center and she is just waiting for the WWE medical team to give her the OK to return to the ring. She noted that it's a brain, so you can't just tell it to hurry up and heal.
