Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide “Total Conquest 2019” results from Mexico City, Mexico at the Pepsi Center WTC on 1/19/19 live on Twitch:
Announcers: the legendary Hugo Savinovich (former WWE Spanish announcer) and Jose Manuel. They said the show was sold out.
Dr. Wagner, Jr. came out and called out Blue Demon, Jr. He came out and insulted Wagner Jr. and they brawled. Konnan and Los Mercenarios came out and attacked Wagner Jr. Konnan said they would win the Mega Championship back from Fénix this year. Psycho Clown ran out and made the save on Dr. Wagner, Jr. but he eventually got beaten too. They shook hands once they recovered to build up the main event.
Lanzelot & Villano III Jr. & Lady Marvavilla vs. Dinastia & Nino Hamburguesa & Lady Shani
Nino got the pin on Villano III Jr. after the big splash off the top rope. During the match, Nino stacked all three opponents in the corner of the ring and gave them two cannonballs. After the match, Marvavilla held down Shani as Keyra made her way to the ring. Marvavilla and Keyra beat up on Shani as they both want a title shot at her. Shani recovered and went after them. Both teams had to separate them.
Tito Santana & Carta Brava, Jr. & Mocho Cota, Jr. vs. Laredo Kid & Mysteziz, Jr. & Hijo Del Vikingo
Brava Jr. pinned Kid after grabbing at Kid’s mask and hitting a spear for the pin. Vikingo did a running springboard off the back of Mysteziz, Jr. to give a hurricanrana to one of the rudos.
La Parka and his teenage son came out to do a promo. Vampiro then came out and once again talked about wanting to face Konnan in a loser leaves AAA match this year.
La Máscara & Chessman & Faby Apache vs. Murder Clown & Maximo & Taya Valkyrie with Brazo de Platino
Maximo pinned La Máscara after giving him a kiss to shock him and rolling him up with an inside cradle. Brazo de Platino tried to help by getting involved during the match but his nephew La Máscara smashed something over his head then hit him with a chair. After the match, La Máscara and Maximo brawled to the back (they are cousins). Averno ran to the ring and hit Monster Clown with a kendo stick. Chessman and Faby Apache helped in the attack and Averno took Monster Clown’s mask. Taya tried to help Monster but she was tossed to the outside. She came to the ring wearing the Impact Knockouts Title and the announcers acknowledged her as the champion.
La Parka Negra vs. Dave the Clown vs. Killer Kross
Killer Kross used his choke out finisher on Dave the Clown for the submission win after taking Parka Negra out with a powerbomb. After the match, Parka Negra tried to jump Kross from behind but Kross gave him a Doomsday Saito.
Joe Lider and Texano Jr. vs. Brian Cage and Pagano
Pagano shoved Texano Jr. off the ropes into a table that was set up in the ring and gave the leg drop off the top rope for the pin.
Main event- Rey Escorpio & Blue Demon Jr. & Hijo Del Fantasma vs. Psycho Clown & Dr. Wagner Jr. & La Parka
Hijo Del Fantasma pinned La Parka after a tombstone piledriver. The heel referee El Hijo del Tirantes was the official and he was bumped accidentally by Escorpion. La Parka’s son was on commentary. After the match, the rudos attacked Psycho Clown, La Parka, and La Parka’s son. They took Psycho’s mask. La Parka did a stretcher job. Wagner, Jr. was laid out apparently on the outside in the post match attack but he wasn’t shown on camera in all the chaos.
NOTES:
There were some notable production changes. More than ever, the announcers spoke in English to try to further appeal to the English speaking countries.
Konnan noted on his podcast that they may start to do full fledged English speaking Twitch broadcasts this year.
There was a backstage interview during the show with Tito Santana, Carta Brava, Jr., and Mocho Cota, Jr. They hardly ever do backstage interviews on the Twitch shows.
AAA president Marisela Pena was sitting at ringside for the event. She usually is visible on the big shows to make them come across as important.
