WWE STUDIOS' 'FIGHTING WITH MY FAMILY' TO PREMIERE AT SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL

By Mike Johnson on 2019-01-11 13:34:00

Deadline.com reported this afternoon that the WWE Studios film Fighting With My Family will have a surprise premiere screening at the Sundance Film Festival on 1/28.

Stephen Merchant (The Office, Hello Ladies) wrote, directed and Executive produced the film, which is based on a British documentary about the Knight family that was released several years back.  WWE tryouts for Paige and her brother, who wrestles as Zak Bevis internationally were featured in the documentary.    Dwayne Johnson, after seeing the documentary, decided to develop a feature film version.

The role of Paige is portrayed by actress Florence Pugh.  Nick Frost and Lena Headey play Paige's parents.  Johnson appears in the film as himself (well, The Rock) while Vince Vaughn plays a WWE trainer.  WWE Smackdown Live star Zelina Vega plays AJ Lee in the film.

The cast as well as well as The Rock and his production partner Dany Garcia will all be in attendance at the premiere.

The film has launched an official website at FightingWithMyFamily.Movie.
