WWE 205 LIVE REPORT: ITAMI OR ALEXANDER?, DAR VERSUS NESE, AND MORE

Drake Maverick talks about last week's show when Akira Tozawa and Kalisto earned spots in the Cruiserweight Title Match at the Royal Rumble.  Who will join them?  Will it be Cedric Alexander or Hideo Itami?  Will Ariya Daivari help Itami to the top of the Cruiserweight Division?  Will Cedric be able to get the Cruiserweight Title back?

We are in Jacksonville, Florida and your announcers are Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness, and Percy Watson.

Tony asks if everyone is sick of Noam Dar.  He did not like him as a teammate and as an opponent he is worse.  He did not lose to him before because of Buddy Murphy.  Tony says he is the better athlete and the better man.

Match Number One:  Noam Dar versus Tony Nese

Dar with a take down and hammer lock.  Dar gets a near fall.  Nese backs Dar into the turnbuckles and he poses but Dar with a wrist lock and side head lock take down.  Nese with a head scissors and Dar escapes and applies a head lock.  Nese with a shoulder tackle and he poses.  Dar trips Nese and works on the leg and kicks Nese in the shin.  Nese backs Dar into the corner and connects with shoulders.  Dar with an Irish whip and Nese with a back elbow and waist lock.  Dar with a standing switch.  Dar with a leg trip on Nese.  Dar sends Nese into the turnbuckles.

Nese falls over Dar's back and he connects with a head butt to the midsection.  Dar spins Nese around and gets a near fall with a back slide.  Nese goes to the floor and Dar follows him.  Dar sends Nese back into the ring.  Nese with a knee to Dar and he follows with more knees while Dar is caught up in the ropes.  Nese with a running back elbow and he gets a near fall. Nese with more kicks to Dar and he gets a near fall.  Nese with a body scissors.  Dar with forearms to get out of the hold.  Nese with a front face lock.  Dar with punches.  Dar works on the shoulder but Nese with a back heel kick.

Nese with a knee lift and leg sweep for a near fall.  Nese with forearms to the head and he gets a near fall.  Nese with a waist lock.  Dar with a forearm but Nese with an Irish whip and clothesline for a near fall.  Nese works on the neck but Dar with punches.  Nese with an Irish whip but Nese misses a flying clothesline when Dar goes down.  Dar runs into a boot but Dar kicks Nese off the turnbuckles to the mat.  Dar with double thrusts followed by a running forearm into the corner.  Dar with a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall.  

Nese drops down when Dar goes for a suplex.  Dar with a guillotine but Nese takes Dar into the corner to force the hold to be broken.  Nese with a forearm and then he goes over the top rope to the floor and drops Dar on the top rope.  Nese with a double jump moonsault for a near fall.  Nese runs into a boot and Nese with a rolling palm strike to the head to stop Dar.  Dar escapes from Nese's shoulders.  Dar avoids the German suplex and Dar with kicks to the head.  Nese goes down and Nese with a forearm.  Dar with a kick to the leg but Nese misses a thrust kick.

Dar with a guillotine and he adds a body scissors.  Nese tries to put Dar on the turnbuckles but Dar uses his boot to avoid going into the turnbuckles.  Nese counters with a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall.  Nese slaps Dar and Dar kicks Nese in the leg.  Dar with punches and the referee pulls Dar away.  Nese with a pump handle Michinoku Driver.  Nese looks around and he pulls Dar into the corner.  Dar with a rollup for the three count.

Winner:   Noam Dar

Brian Kendrick says he has a letter to read from Akira Tozawa since he is not here tonight.  Tozawa says he is back in Japan to hone his skills before the Royal Rumble.  He will fight for everyone who believes in him and he will win the title from Buddy Murphy.

Brian says he screwed over Tozawa but now they have this weird friendship and he owes the guy.  Brian says he will do everything to make sure that Tozawa is the next Cruiserweight Champion.

Drew Gulak and Jack Gallagher are with Drake Maverick.  He says that Drake's career is dependent on the talents that Drake can hire.  Drew and Jack say that they have a list of talents who will not go to the turnbuckles even if the floor is lava.  Jack says he has some British names in there.  Drew says to check out Wheeler Yuta in there.

Drake throws the books down.

Mike and Maria Kanellis enter.  Mike says it has been five weeks and he asks Drake if he knows how long that is.  Drake says that is 35 days.  Maria says that is how long Mike has not wrestled on this show.  Five weeks of traveling and five weeks away from their baby girl.

Drake says he would love to have every cruiserweight on 205 Live but there is not enough time.

Maria says she has been in this business for a long time and you don't get opportunities without fighting.  Maybe they haven't been fighting the right way.  You are bringing these cruiserweights onto the show but you have talents who you don't have time for.  Maria says she hopes these new faces will fight for their spots as much as Mike will.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Lio Rush says Kalisto did not beat him, it was the Lucha House Party.  Kalisto knows he cannot beat Lio one-on-one.  Lio says he should be in the match at the Royal Rumble.  Lio says the Lucha House Party will feel the Rush.

Match Number Two:  Cedric Alexander versus Hideo Itami (with Ariya Daivari) in a Qualifying Match for the Cruiserweight Title at the Royal Rumble

Itami is not ready to lock up so he backs into the ropes.  Alexander with a take down and waist lock.  Itami with a front face lock but Alexander escapes.  They lock up again and Alexander with a wrist lock.  We see Buddy Murphy watching in the back.  Alexnader stands on the hand and then he applies an arm bar.  Alexander works on the surgically repaired shoulder.  Itami with a kick and wrist lock.  Alexander with a chop and he gets a near fall.  The referee has Alexander get out of the corner and Itami with a punch and kicks.  Alexander with a chop and forearm.

Itami with a punch and forearm to the back.  Itami with kicks to the chest.  Alexander with a hand stand head scissors followed by a drop kick.  Alexander gets a near fall.  Alexander with a boot to the back of the head.  Alexander with a snap mare and kick to the back of the head for a near fall.  Alexander tries for a lumbar check but Itami blocks it and Itami goes to the floor and Alexander misses a baseball slide.  Alexander with a forearm and Daivari distracts Alexander.  Itami goes after Alexander and the referee pulls him back.  Ariya with a clothesline.  Itami with a double stomp off the apron.  

Itami sends Alexander into the ringside barrier.  Alexander is sent back into the ring and he gets a near fall.  Itami with a kick to the back.  Itami gets a near fall.  Itami kicks Alexander in the corner.  Itami with a European uppercut but Alexander with a clothesline.  Itami with a series of kicks while Alexnader is caught in the ropes.  Itami goes to the turnbuckles for a knee to the back of the head and he gets a near fall.  Alexander has trouble breathing as a result of Itami's offense.  Itami with a knee to the midsection and he gets a near fall.  Itami with a reverse chin lock.

Alexander with a jaw breaker to escape the hold.  Alexander with forearms and chops.  Alexander with a drop kick to the knee and then one to the head.  Itami sends Alexander to the apron and Alexander with a boot and a slingshot Flatliner for a near fall.  Itami with a side head lock and punches.  Alexander with an uppercut and then he sets for the Neuralizer but Itami drop kicks Alexander in the ropes.  Itami with a running knee into the corner and then he hits a fisherman's suplex for a near fall.  Itami sets for the knee to the head but Alexander escapes.  Alexander runs into a knee.  Itami drops Alexander on the top rope and then he hits a clothesline from the top for a near fall.

Itami sets for a Dragon suplex but Alexander with an elbow.  Itami with a forearm.  They continue the exchange.  Itami with kicks to the chest.  Alexander with kicks of his own followed by an uppercut.  Alexander gets away from Itami and hits a Neuralizer for a near fall.  Alexander tries for a German suplex but Itami holds on to the ropes.  Daivari pulls Itami to the floor and Alexander with a plancha over the referee onto Itami and Daviari.  

Alexander sends Itami back into the ring.  Alexander kicks Daivari away.  Itami with a palm strike when Alexander goes for a springboard move.  They both go to the apron.  Itami slaps Alexander and hits a Falcon Arrow off the apron and Alexander's legs hit the apron.  Itami rolls back into the ring and the referee starts his count.  Alexander gets to his feet nine and jumps back into the ring at the last moment.  Itami with a running hesitation drop kick.  Alexander with a roll up for a near fall.  Itami with a spinning back fist and then hits the hesitation drop kick and then hits the knees to the head for the three count.

Winner:  Hideo Itami

We see Buddy Murphy in the back and he appears to be impressed with Itami's performance.

Buddy is asked about the match at Royal Rumble and his biggest threat.  Buddy congratulates Hideo because he might be one of the most dangerous strikers after what he did to Cedric.  They are talking about the most talented sheep because he is the wolf.  His competition is not with 205 Live, but with history.  He is trying to be the greatest champion of all time.  Buddy Murphy makes an open challenge for anyone to face him who is under 205 pounds.  It is not a title match, but a chance to see if you can stop the unstoppable.
