WWE NXT UK EPISODE 23 REPORT: STORM AND RIPLEY PRESS CONFERENCE, GALLUS, AND MORE

We are in Liverpool, England and your announcers are Vic Joseph and Nigel McGuinness.

Match Number One: Jamie Ahmed and Dan Moloney versus Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan

Ahmed and Jordan start things off and Ahmed with a wrist lock. Jordan rolls through and reverses the wrist lock. Williams tags in and he splashes onto the arm. Williams with a take down of Ahmed followed by a leg drop to the arm for a near fall. Jordan tags in and he hits rolling splash onto Ahmed for a near fall. Ahmed with a forearm but Jordan with a cross body and forearm into the corner. Jordan with punches but Ahmed sends Jordan into the turnbuckles. Jordan with an elbow and he goes to the turnbuckles but Moloney distracts Jordan and Ahmed pulls Jordan off the turnbuckles.

Ahmed with a clothesline for a near fall. Moloney tags in and hits a European uppercut followed by series of front face lock suplexes and a butterfly suplex for a near fall. Moloney with a hammer lock. Jordan with punches but Moloney with a forearm. Jordan with a back slide for a near fall and a back body drop. Ahmed and Williams tag in and Williams with foraerms and a springboard back elbow. Williams is sent to the apron and he hits an enzuigiri. Williams with a bicycle kick to Moloney on the apron. Williams with a springboard elbow to Ahmed. Jordan tags in and Williams hits a Victory Gourdbuster. Jordan with a swanton for the three count.

Winners: Kenny Williams and Amir Jordan

We take a look back at last week’s contract signing between Joe Coffey and Pete Dunne for the Men’s UK Title Match.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Gallus makes their way to the ring.

Joe Coffey is ready to talk but Mark Coffey has to hold Wolfgang back. Joe asks if they can hear that. No one likes them and they do not care. He tells Mark and Wolfy there is only one thing on the agenda of Gallus. Next week, it is finally going to be Gallus versus British Strong Style. Joe says he knows that as a unit, they want to beat British Strong Style, for him, he is looking at you Pete Dunne.

British Strong Style will get what is coming to them. Pete Dunne will be getting what is coming to him. You will be lucky to get out of the ring to get to Blackpool. Joe says this is their kingdom and that WWE UK Championship is his. Joe Coffey, the Iron King.

We take a look at some issues between Rhea Ripley and Toni Storm at a Press Conference for Takeover.

Toni was asked about winning the Mae Young Classic and how it would mean to win the title at Takeover. Toni says she won the Mae Young Classic and she says that is a height she never thought she would achieve. Toni mentions she has lived in the UK for the last 5 years while Rhea has come and gone. She wants to win the title and represent properly.

Rhea is asked about being the first champion and what will she do to keep the title. Rhea is shocked that a question like that would be asked at a press conference. Toni is sitting right here. She is not going to give out her secrets.

Rhea reminds Toni she has never beaten her.

Toni is asked about any changes since the last time she faced Rhea Ripley for the title. Toni says people can get more dangerous after losing. Things change and people change. She mentions who she beat to win the Mae Young Classic. Things change.

Toni asks Rhea what chance does Rhea have after who she beat in the Mae Young Classic.

Rhea reminds Toni that she has not beaten her.

Toni says that she will win the NXT UK Women’s Championship in Blackpool.

Rhea is asked about whether her win was a fluke and that she is a Toni Storm impersonator. Rhea yells at the person who asked that question. Rhea says she is 110 percent herself. Toni is the copy cat. Rhea says it is her time and she has proven it by beating Toni before. Rhea tells Toni her time is over and then calls Toni pathetic. She tells Toni that she has no chance and the title will never be Toni’s.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Ligero says that Joseph Conners wants to consider him a shiny new toy. They have been all over the road for ten years as partners and opponents. Ligero says Conners knows how hard he fought to get here. If you want to dismiss him so easily, then back up your words in the ring.

Match Number Two: Isla Dawn versus Xia Brookside

Xia offers her hand and Dawn shakes it. They lock up and Dawn with a wrist lock. Xia with a reversal. Dawn with a reversal of her own. Xia uses the ropes to help with a reversal. Dawn with a reversal and arm drag. They lock up and Xia with a side head lock. Dawn with a top wrist lock take down into a key lock. Xia with a head scissors take down. Isla escapes and she slams Xia’s head into the mat.

Isla sends Xia’s head into the mat again as Isla works on the lower body. Xia gets a near fall with a lateral press. They lock up and Isla with a straitjacket choke but Xia escapes but Isla returns to the hold. Xia is able to escape and reverse the hold. Isla with another reversal. Xia bridges into a reversal. Isla with another reversal. Isla uses her knees to add more pressure to the hold. Xia with a reversal.

Isla with an arm drag and Xia with a rollup for a near fall. Isla with a near fall. They alternate near falls. Isla with a back slide for a near fall. Xia with a crucifix for a near fall. Isla blocks a victory roll and gets the three count.

Winner: Isla Dawn

After the match, they shake hands and hug.

Vic and Nigel talk about the No Disqualification Match between Dave Mastiff and Eddie Dennis at Takeover.

Eddie Dennis says that Dave Mastiff thinks this revolves around jealousy but he is all wrong. Everyone things that Dave is the monster and the killer. Eddie says he is the monster. He has looked in his eyes and they are not the same as his eyes. He may have 60 pounds on him, but Dave lacks that killer instinct. The willingness to do whatever it takes to put your opponent down. He will put him down. When it is all said and done, he will pick Dave up above his head and drop him to his back and pin him one, two, three to show that he is the dominant monster in NXT UK.

We go to commercial.

We are back and we see footage from during the break when Jinny attacked Isla Dawn from behind. Jinny says this is the difference between a witch and a queen.

Match Number Three: Jordan Devlin versus Damien Weir

Devlin with a kick to the midsection and then he works on the left arm. Devlin with a back drop while holding on to the arm. Devlin with a European uppercut. Devlin kicks Weir in the corner and wraps the arm in the ropes. Devlin says Weir is not in his league and he is having fun. Weir with punches but Devlin with a uranage and standing moonsault. Devlin kicks Weir in the head and hits a back breaker and stretches Weir over his knee.

Devlin with an elbow across the chest as he keeps Weir over his knee. Weir wit forearms but Devlin with a back breaker. Devlin with boots to the head. Devlin stretches Weir. Devlin with a knee to the midsection. Devlin gets Weir on his shoulders but Weir with a victory roll for a near fall. Weir with an enzuigiri and Devlin is sent to the floor. Weir sets for a suicide dive but Devlin with a kick to the head.

Devlin with a slingshot cutter and follows with a belly-to-back suplex and Ireland’s Call for the three count.

Winner: Jordan Devlin

After the match, Devlin has something to say. He says he will do his own interview, but he is interrupted by Travis Banks.

Devlin gets out of the ring as Banks enters the ring.

Banks tells Devlin if you want to challenge him, why wait and do it right now.

Devlin comes back to the ring and then he goes back up the ramp.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Trent Seven and Tyler Bate say that they do are not avoiding any of the two teams who they will face in Blackpool. They will win the titles in Blackpool.

Match Number Four: James Drake and Zack Gibson versus Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster in a SemiFinal Match for the NXT UK Tag Team Championship

Drake and Andrews start things off and Gibson distracts Andrews and Drake hits him from behind and then he hits Webster on the apron. Drake with kicks and Gibson tags in and goes after Webster. Drake tags back in and they hit a Doomsday Device for a near fall. Drake sends Andrews to the floor and Gibson tags in. Gibson with a back breaker while Drake hits a pescado. Gibson gets a near fall.

Andrews with a forearm but Gibson with a double thrust to the throat and Gibson gets a near fall. Gibson with a chin lock using Andrews’ arm for more leverage. Drake tags in and connects with forearm and gets a near fall. Drake with a cravate. Gibson tags in and he kicks Andrews. Gibson with a short arm clothesline and he gets a near fall. Gibson with a half nelson and chin lock. Drake tags in and Andrews escapes a slam but Andrews is Irish whipped into the corner. Andrews ducks Gibson and Drake but they stop Andrews. Webster tags in and he hits a quebrada followed by drop kicks.

Webster wit a clothesline and punches. Drake sends Webster to the apron and then he hits a cannonball onto Gibson. Webster with a Baba O’Reilly Buster for a near fall. Gibson tags in and he puts Webster on the ropes and works on the injured arm. Webster sends Gibson over the top rope to the floor. Andrews tags in and hits a plancha into a rana. Webster wit a knee to Drake and then Webster flips Andrews onto Gibson but Gibson kicks out at two. Drake pulls Webster off the apron and Andrews slides under Gibson but Gibson hits Ticket to Ride for a near fall. Drake tags in and Andrews punches Drake from Gibson’s shoulders. Andrews with a Frankensteiner that sends Drake into Gibson. Webster with a senton and then Andrews with a reverse rana while Webster hits a jumping knee. Gibson pushes Webster onto Andrews to break up the cover.

Andrews with a suicide dive but Gibson catches Andrews and hits Helter Skelter on the ramp. Drake with a rollup for a near fall. Webster with a head butt and then he sees Andrews on the ramp. Gibson tags in and Gibson with a double thrust ot the throat followed by Ticket to Ride for the three count.

Winners: Zack Gibson and James Drake
