The show opened with the announcement that AJ Styles would not appear due to the flu and John Cena would instead face Daniel Bryan in a steel cage match.
*Miz TV with Mustafa Ali led to a match between the two with Ali pinning Miz. Solid but short.
*Truth and Carmella defeated Andrade "Cien" Almas and Zelina Vega. All comedy. Crowd was into the comedy and the babyface entrances. There was zero response for Vega and Almas.
*Shelton Benjamin & Gallows & Anderson defeated Aiden English & The Colons.
*Sanity came out and challenged the winners. Benjamin, Gallows & Anderson win another match.
*Rey Mysterio pinned Randy Orton in about five minutes after a top rope splash.
WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Bar defeated The Usos and New Day in a Triple Threat match. Very entertaining with lots of interactions with the crowd and some comedy mixed in with good wrestling. This felt like they had the time to actually go out and work, while the undercard stuff up until this point felt short and held back in my opinion.
*Jeff Hardy pinned Samoa Joe with the Twist of Fate in another five minute match.
*WWE Champion Daniel Bryan escaped the steel cage to defeat John Cena and retain the title. This was easily the longest and most entertaining match on the show up until this point. The new Bryan character was really booed while the kids loved the hell out of Cena. There was no one who got close to the reaction Cena received from the kids at the show. Bryan ripped on New York on the mic. He escaped after a low blow and after using the WWE title belt. Cena grabbed him and nailed the Attitude Adjustment to get a big pop to send everyone home. Cena looked beyond happy to be wrestling.
*Lana & Naomi defeated Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville. The IIconics were ring announcers. The crowd never gave this one a chance.
*WWE United States Champion Rusev defeated Shinsuke Nakamura with the Machka Kick. OK at best.
*WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Asuka defeated Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch when Flair tapped to the Asuka Lock.
Not a huge crowd. Running the day after MSG may have bit them in the butt since MSG is pretty easy to get to via Long Island Rail Road. Show peaked with Cena vs. Bryan.
