UPDATE ON WHERE AND HOW NXT UK TALENTS CAN WORK OUTSIDE OF WWE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-11-26 16:04:00

As I wrote about earlier today, WWE began signing NXT UK talents to new deals that included more exclusivity on talents signed to the company, effectively removing them from many European independent promotions.

According to several sources, NXT UK talents are still currently allowed to perform for the following companies, but only in dark matches that will not be distributed via TV, DVD or streaming media:

*Great Britain's PROGRESS Wrestling (which has a working relationship with WWE.)

*Scotland's ICW (which has a working relationship with WWE.)

*Germany's WXW (which has a working relationship with WWE.)

*Fight Club Pro (which is run by NXT UK star Trent Seven.)

*Attack! Pro Wrestling (which was founded in part by Pete Dunne.)

*Over the Top Wrestling in Ireland.

*Great Britain's Futureshock.

The dark match rule has been in effect for some time with NXT UK talents but has been mostly unenforced.   Whether there will be a stronger enforcement of that rule, especially within promotions that WWE doesn't currently absorb into their own video archives, remains to be seen.
