'GOTHAM' STAR TALKS JOHN CENA, LINDA MCMAHON PULLED INTO IVANKA TRUMP EMAIL STORY & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-11-20 10:36:00

The Washington Post reported yesterday that President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka had been using her personal email account for government work, similar to allegations Trump used as part of his campaign attacks on Hillary Clinton during in the 2016 United States Presidential race (although Clinton was also hosting an email server in her home.)   Where this turns into something pro wrestling related is that some of the hundreds of emails uncovered included back and forth conversations with Linda McMahon, who serves as Trump's Small Business Administrator.  Thanks to Lavie Margolin.

On the Bob and Tom show this morning, actor Drew Powell from FOX's Gotham was a guest.  They were discussing him selling himself as an actor and the host Tom said, "You could say you're close to a WWE guy, because you're big, fit and strong" and Drew Powell started discussing David Arquette and saying how crazy that situation was.  This segued into talk about John Cena, who Drew acted alongside in "The Marine."

Drew shared these two stories:

"I did a movie with John Cena called the Marine, and we were shooting in Australia, and on the weekends, he would fly back to the United States to do WWE shows, saying 'I'm going a show in Columbus or something' and every Friday he'd fly out, and when he'd come back he'd have these little injuries, like a fat lip, or one time he looked like somebody had bitten a chunk out of his hand.  I know it's 'fake' but those dudes get HURT man."

"I knew he was gonna do well, even back then, because of how great his attitude was.  We were all at a place in Hollywood called 'Saddle Ranch' which is the most cliche bar on Sunset Boulevard, and he'd probably hate me telling this story but I don't care.  We had a big night, he was fan of the Jaegermeister back then, probably isn't anymore,  but we had a big night, had a lot of fun.  But he paid the check, and this was early John Cena, before he was as big as he is now, but in my Jaeger haze, I don't remember the exact number, but I feel like there were a LOT of digits on the check.  I tried to stop him but he insisted on paying.  As we walked out, I turned around and when the waitress picked up the check, she had to sit down because of the size of the tip he gave her.  I feel like it was a car payment for her, I was so impressed by that."
