NO, PAIGE HAS NOT BEEN CLEARED TO RETURN

By Mike Johnson on 2018-11-13 11:05:00

Let's take a visit into the Canyon of Stupidity, shall we?

For the third time in a week, something that I discussed on a PWInsider.com Elite audio for subscribers has been miscontrued and turned into "news" credited to yours truly when nothing was ever reported.

Yesterday, on a subscriber audio, The MJ Mailbag, where I discuss topics and questions posed by Elite subscribers, one subscriber posed the following question: "Since retiring earlier this year have you heard if Paige has looked into various ways of getting better and ultimatly getting cleared?"

In my response, I explained that WWE had retired her from being an in-ring performer and that unlike Daniel Bryan, they are unlikely to reverse course and allow her to return to the ring, even if she offered to go through another surgery and another round of physical therapy.  I also noted how happy WWE is with her work in her current role.  However, I then noted that if she were to leave WWE, she could choose to return to the ring, although making that decision would obviously be taking her health into her own hands, but made it clear that while she was under the WWE umbrella, there was no likely scenario where she returned to the ring.

All of that seems pretty cut and dry, but yet again, those who fail to lack even the most basic listening comprehension have twisted that into some alleged report that I have written Paige has been cleared to take bumps and/or return to the ring.  Not the case, yet over the last 12 hours, it's become so shared on social media that Paige herself decided to comment this morning:

The sad part is that there were no "facts."  It was someone who has zero connection to this website twisting things and it's the third time (after the Braun Strowman "heat' non-story and comments I made on another Elite audio suggesting Homicide would make a great Performance Center Coach that has been twisted into a story that WWE has offered him a job) in less than a week that this has happened at PWInsider.com's expense.

Whether any of you choose to subscribe to our Elite section is up to you (obviously, I would personally suggest it!), but I make an appeal to you to stop visiting websites, YouTube Channels, social media accounts, etc. that are knowingly falsifying stories, especially when they credit others, to bait and switch you into reading something that's garbage.

You make a choice with every click of your mouse or your phone.  You don't have to choose to read PWInsider.com.  Everyone here thanks you for doing so, but even if you choose not to, please don't choose to support outlets that will boldy lie to you as a reader and lie about the pro wrestling personalities and companies you want to know about.

I am coming up on my 15th anniversary of doing this full-time for a living and while certainly I (just like others) have made errors, there is a world of difference between making a mistake and knowingly running a false story in order to gain social media traction or to run up impressions.  If you are reading this, chances are you already truly know who the credible writers and reporters are.  Support them - no matter who they are or where they write, as long as they are credible -  and stop wasting your valuable time with those who continue to prove they aren't credible and care less about doing their job the right way.

Three times in a week there have been falsified reports about what I have said or written.  Wouldn't you prefer to support outlets that aren't going to do that to you, day after day, week after week?  The choice is yours.
