NWA 70th ANNIVERSARY EVENT UPDATES

The National Wrestling Alliance's 70th Anniversary event in Nashville, TN at the Nashville Fairgrounds (aka TNA Asylum) will be headlined by NWA Champion Cody vs. Nick Aldis II as well as the crowning of a new NWA National Champion.

As noted over the weekend, the announcing team for the event, which will air live on iPPV (priced at $24.99) on Fite.TV, will be Joe Galli of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood and Jim Cornette, while Tony Schiavone will be calling the NWA title bout via a deal reached with MLW, where Schiavone is under contract.

Cornette commented on his role at the iPPV via Twitter, writing:

The NWA also announced a number of meet and greet and photo opportunities for fans attending the event live in Nashville, including a recreation of the old Jim Crockett Promotions on TBS World Championship Wrestling set as a backdrop:

The meet and greet listing includes former NWA Champions Jeff Jarrett, Colt Cabana, Blue Demon Jr., Tim Storm and Dory Funk Jr, so they will all be in attendance at the event and possibly appearing during the iPPV broadcast.  Jarrett is involved in the local promotion and as a liasion to Fite.TV.
