We begin with a recap of the four first round matches in the Second Annual Mae Young Classic.
Tonight's matches will see Deonna Purrazzo will face Priscilla Kelly. Aerial Monroe faces Zeuxis. Kacy Catanzaro faces Reina Gonzalez. Ashley Rayne faces Mercedes Martinez.
We are in Winter Park, Florida and your announcers are Michael Cole, Renee Young, and Beth Phoenix.
Deonna Purrazzo mentions that she is from New Jersey. She says she is very methodical. She is a Fujiwara Arm Bar specialist. Last year, she was an alternate and it put a chip on her shoulder. She went around the world to become better. She says she is excited to get into the ring and break some limbs.
Priscilla Kelly mentions that she is from Georgia and she likes to play mind games on her opponents to get their guard down. That is when she strikes. She can kick girls or tie them up if she needs to do it. This tournament gives her the opportunity to show what she can do. People will see what she brings to this tournament and it is unique.
We see Samoa Joe in the crowd for the opening match.
Match Number One: Deonna Purrazzo versus Priscilla Kelly in a First Round Tournament Match
They lock up and Kelly with a waist lock into a snap mare. Purrazzo with a wrist lock and hammer lock. Kelly with a head scissors and Purrazzo with a headstand to escape. Kelly with a knee to the midsection and Irish whip but Purrazzo goes through the legs and leap frogs over Kelly and goes through the legs. Purrazzo with a rollup for a near fall. Purrazzo with a leg mare and works on the arm but Kelly gets to the ropes. Kelly with a thrust kick and she gets a near fall. Kelly with chops in the corner. Kelly with an elbow in the corner followed by an arm wringer.
Kelly with a running kick for a near fall. Kelly with a dragon sleeper on Purrazzo. Kelly gets a near fall. Kelly runs into an elbow from Purrazzo and then she runs into a boot. Purrazzo with chops. Purrazzo with a hip toss followed by a handspring into a drop kick. Kelly with an STO for a near fall. Purrazzo with a side Russian leg sweep into the Fujiwara arm bar and she adds more pressure to force Kelly to tap out.
Winner: Deonna Purrazzo (advances to face winner of Karen G versus Xia Li in the Second Round)
Aerial Monroe says she is Big Swole. She says she is different from everyone else. She has a certain swag that hasn't been seen before. You are going to expect a regular person but you are going to get her.
Zeuxis She says the reality of strong style begins now. She is ready for everything and she is going to show Lucha Libre. She is here to make history and make her mark.
Natalya is in the crowd for the next match.
Match Number Two: Aerial Monroe versus Zeuxis in a First Round Tournament Match
They lock up and Zeuxis swings at Monroe but misses. Monroe tells Zeuxis not to touch her hair again. Monroe misses a round kick and leg sweep. Monroe with a kick. Zeuxis goes for a drop kick but Monroe blocks it and gets a near fall. Zeuxis with a forearm and she messes with Monroe's hair. Monroe with a palm thrust and back hand. Zeuxis with a kick and she sends Monroe into the turnbuckles. Zeuxis tosses Monroe across the ring by the hair.
Zeuxis tosses Monroe across the ring by the hair again. Zeuxis gets a near fall. Zeuxis with an abdominal stretch. Monroe with a crucifix for a near fall. Monroe with a back fist but Zeuxis sends Monroe to the mat and gets a near fall. Zeuxis with a camel clutch. Zeuxis has a kick blocked and Monroe with a running European uppercut. Monroe with a snap mare and then she rolls through and kicks Zeuxis to get a near fall.
Zeuxis with a rollup and bridge for a near fall. Monroe with a kick to the leg and a flatliner. Monroe with strikes in the corner and then she is sent to the turnbuckles. Zeuxis climbs to the turnbuckles as well and hits Spanish Fly for the three count.
Winner: Zeuxis (Advances to face winner of Io Shirai versus Xia Brookside in the second round)
We see Cedric Alexander in the crowd.
Reina Gonzalez says she is one of the bigger and stronger girls in the tournament. She fell short last year in the tournament because she was too nice. She is going to have a one track attitude this year. She is not here to win people's hearts. She is here to win it and push through who Reina Gonzalez is.
Kacy Catanzaro says her in ring style is different. Her background is from American Ninja Warrior. She mentions she was the first to complete the course. She felt not having wrestling experience was a disadvantage. She says she can be any type of wrestler and she will not let what people say about her get in her way of winning the Mae Young Classic.
We see Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan in the crowd.
Match Number Three: Reina Gonzalez versus Kacy Catanzaro in a First Round Tournament Match
Catanzaro is caught by Gonzalez and swung around in the ring. Gonzalez picks up Catanzaro and puts her in the corner. Gonzalez misses an elbow and Catanzaro with a head scissors take down. Gonzalez catches Catanzaro but Kacy escapes. Kacy goes for a head scissors but Gonzalez blocks it and hits a back breaker. Gonzalez chokes Kacy in the ring. Gomzalez with a hard Irish whip. Gonzalez tells Kacy she does not belong in the ring. Gonzalez with kicks and then she picks up Kacy for a twisting power slam for a near fall.
Gonzalez with a back breaker and she stretches Kacy over her knee. Kacy with knees to force Gonzalez to release the hold. Gonzalez misses a clothesline but hits a Northern Lariat. Gonzalez tosses Kacy to the mat. Gonzalez with a power slam for a near fall. Gonzalez with kicks and an elbow drop. Gonzalez gets a near fall. Reina misses a charge into the corner and hits the ring post shoulder first.
Gonzalez misses an elbow drop when Kacy moves. Kacy with drop kicks to the knee but Gonzalez stays on her feet. Kacy puts Reina in the ropes and then hits a slingshot to the floor and drops Reina on the middle rope. Kacy with a springboard drop kick and flip leg drop to the back for a near fall. Kacy with a victory roll for the three count.
Winner: Kacy Catanzaro (advances to face Rhea Ripley in the second round)
After the match, Gonzalez offers her hand to Kacy and pulls her close and picks her up and puts her on her shoulder.
Ashley Rayne says she is high energy. When something gets under her skin, things just change. She has been wrestling for thirteen years. All of the sacrifice she has given was for a reason and it paid off with her being in this tournament. She found that the best thing she can do is wear down her opponent and be quicker than her opponent. That is how she will advance.
Mercedes Martinez says she was humbled, excited, and nervous in last year's tournament. She lost to Shayna Baszler last year. She is not here to lose this year. Her goals are not met yet. This year they are going to know who she is. This is the year that Mercedes Martinez takes it all the way.
The Undisputed Era is in the crowd for the main event.
Match Number Four: Mercedes Martinez versus Ashley Rayne in a First Round Tournament Match
They lock up and Martinez with a waist lock take down into a front face lock. Rayne with a hammer lock and Martinez gets to her feet and reverses the hold. Rayne with a take down and bridge for a near fall. Rayne with a front face lock. Martinez picks up Rayne and hits a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall. Martinez with a rear chin lock. Martinez with a front face lock. Rayne with a rollup for a near fall.
Rayne with a chin lock. Martinez blocks a wheelbarrow move into a half nelson driver for a near fall. Martinez gets a near fall. Martinez with a double under hook guillotine. Rayne tries to get to the ropes and she succeeds to force Martinez to release the hold. Martinez with a punch followed by forearms in the corner. Martinez misses a splash into the corner and Rayne goes for a tornado DDT but Martinez blocks it and hits a delayed vertical suplex. Martinez holds on for a second one but Rayne lands on her feet and hits a cutter for a near fall.
Rayne with a sliding clothesline and she hits a second one for a near fall. Martinez with a spinebuster for a near fall. Martinez sets for the fisherman's buster but Rayne escapes and connects with forearms. Rayne with chops to send Martinez to the mat. Rayne with a clothesline and a running neck breaker. Rayne with a running clothesline into the corner and she sends Martinez to the mat. Rayne goes to the turnbuckles and hits a cross body.
Rayne with a guillotine drop for a near fall. Rayne sets for another guillotine drop but Martinez blocks it and goes for the fisherman's buster. Rayne counters into an inside cradle for a near fall. Rayne with an enzuigiri and she gets Martinez up but Martinez with a knee to the head. Martinez with a fisherman's buster for the three count.
Winner: Mercedes Martinez (advances to face Meiko Satomura in the second round)
