ALEXA VS. RONDA, THE REVIVAL PUSHED TO THE BACK (AGAIN), WHY AN INTERGENDER MATCH IS SO HARD AND MORE

Ronda Rousey/Steph/Alexa Bliss. I get that Alexa was the heel who needed to have Ronda kick her butt. And so she did, in under 5 minutes I believe. But backtrack to Rousey’s tag match at Wrestlemania. She & Steph were in the ring for a pretty decent chunk of time. So my question is are we to believe that Rousey had so much more trouble with Steph, as opposed to a 5 time (former) women’s champ?

I said the same thing, a lot, on audio after the match happened.  If they wanted to have Ronda strike fast, they could have done it in a way that wouldn’t have made Alexa look weak.  Alexa could have charged in on the attack and got caught in the armbar since MMA is not her forte.  But, they didn’t.

What was your take on the Revival getting pushed aside for Ziggler and McIntyre?  They had been building the Revival back up in recent weeks and then were made to look like garbage.  And really I thought a lot of things on the 9/3 and 8/27 episode of Raw seemed hot shot booking and made little sense. The Braun turn and Shield reuniting both seemed forced just to take heat off Reigns.

I covered this one on audio as well.  It stinks that both The B Team and The Revival became afterthoughts because WWE needed to elevate two guys to be with Braun Strowman so that they could face off with The Shield.  I think Dolph and Drew deserve that elevation, I just wish that Creative would have planned long term so that they could have protected the guys that got swamped on Monday.

On a side note, I am not much of a shill but for those of you who have never tried the audio section, we cover a lot of the ground that gets asked here there.  Given all of the content that we deliver, I think it’s a bargain.

Ever since the WWE has dropped the term "Diva" when referring to its female talents, the WWE has stopped mentioning the term as a result, even going so far as to not mention the Divas Championship on WWE programming. Thoughts?

They are Superstars now.  It makes sense that they don’t use the term Diva since that is not what they are called now.  And honestly, there isn’t much reason to refer to the Divas Title on a regular basis.

I know you say you aren't a fan of inter gender matches, but don't you think it could be tastefully done in WWE with the right person (like a ronda rousey) and the right story, as it has been done in the past? I don't think its fair for women being able to slap/hit/assault men when I know they won't be able to do anything about it. Even in mixed tag matches where it is stipulated that men fight men women fight women they do it. Plus the men never defend themselves or block.

And there is the reason why you can’t do the matches.  WWE doesn’t want any position where a man has to hit a woman, no matter who it was.  They could do it with Chyna a few decades ago because society as a whole isn’t where it is today.  Take Ronda, she’s a face.  If they book her on the offensive, the heel would have to resort to chicanery to get the advantage.  And when he’s on the attack, can you really see him throwing punches or kicks to her and WWE not getting an earful from the outside?  I can’t.

A lot of people wanted to see Trish/Lita, or Trish/Mickie James (I know Mickie herself wanted that match), so why don’t they find Alexa a new opponent and put Trish, Mickie, and Lita in a triple threat??

Because while a “lot of people” want to see that, Vince McMahon and the people that are booking the show don’t.  If they book it for Alexa to get a rub, I have no problem with it either.  If they book her to be destroyed by Trish?  Then, I do.  That would make no sense.
