WOMEN ON THE MIC, JERICHO IN IMPACT, SPITTING ON PEOPLE AND MORE

A news item a couple of months back caught my attention. Vicki Sparks made history when she became the first woman to commentate on a live TV football (soccer) match. Former Chelsea player and broadcaster Jason Cundy then remarked, “I prefer to hear a male voice when watching football, Ninety minutes of hearing a high-pitched tone isn’t really what I like to hear. And when there’s a moment of drama, as there often is in football, that moment needs to be done with a slightly lower voice.”  This story made me think about WWE's female commentary team and the fact that one does not exist. In light of the Women's Evolution, do you think WWE is remiss is not having a permanent female representation have a seat at the table? I think it's inexcusable and the time to rectify it is now.

First off, Jason Cundy, whoever he is, is a moron for saying that.  Not for nothing by women, on the whole, are way tougher players than their male counterparts, and it shows when it comes to flopping.  Guys drop like they were shot due to phantom injuries while women fight through everything.  With that said, there are a LOT of soccer games and announce teams, so there are far more opportunities for people to call matches.  WWE has only a few jobs in that area.  With that said, I think they are aware of it and Renee Young has been slotted in for a reason.  And she was fantastic on Raw last week.

A hypothetical.  What would it mean if All In bombs on several different levels?  I think I can trust the creative spirit and enthusiasm but it makes me think.  Ticket sales are one thing but if people don't want to buy a PPV or wrestlers who we see frequently, in all honesty sounds hum-drum on paper, or just casual fans not even knowing it's happening.  Is that going to be a blow to the morale on the indies?

I think it’s already a huge success.  It sold out quickly, which was huge.  I don’t think how it does on PPV will be much of an indicator.  It’s not like TNA sets the world on fire with their shows and with it airing on Honor Club, it’s more like a WWE show in that it’s part of a streaming package where PPV is concerned.  I don’t see how the show does anything but succeed, and succeed in a big way.  It already has in most ways.

With the rumours that Chris Jericho may join Impact Wrestling and Petey Williams even saying if he does then Jericho will be the bargaining tool for Impact to get into a bigger network like Spike, do you really see that happening?

No, I don’t.  Impact had more stars than Jericho a few years ago and couldn’t get a better TV deal.  They have lost most of those talents since then.  I like Jericho and all, but he alone won’t get them on a big network.  And frankly, I don’t see any good reason for him to go to Impact anyway.  I doubt he could move the needle and if he didn’t do that, it would reflect badly on him.

I was wonder in light of recent events from the ongoing feud between Martha and WWE/Bret Hart, should WWE consider inducting the Hart Foundation to the Hall of Fame as a stable/tag team with Bret and Jimmy (and possibly Nattie to accept on her late father’s behalf) accepting given they’re the only surviving members left? It would also be a way to celebrate the careers of Jim, Brian, Davey, and Owen.  Would the wounds too deep within the Hart family to make it happen?

I don’t see any difference between inducting Owen alone or doing it in the Hart Foundation.  If they are respecting Martha’s wishes, they don’t do either.

While watching Major League Wrestling and Ring of Honor this past week, I saw both Sami Callihan and Marty Scurll spit on their opponents in their matches.  I get heels do heelish things, but given how some diseases can be spread by saliva, isn't their a better, safer way to get heat?

I couldn’t agree with you more.  There is no way I would let anyone spit on me, no way, no how.
