Northeast Wrestling has announced Rey Mysterio has been pulled from their 8/24 event due to his "pending contractual" agreement with WWE.  That pretty much means the Mysterio deal has finally been completed.

Former WWF Intercontinental and Tag Team Champion Jacques Rougeau was profiled by The Montreal Gazette in advance of an event he is promoting today at Stade IDA in Montreal will be his final event as a professional wrestler and as a promoter.  Rougeau noted that his sons aren't interested in continuing in the pro wrestling business and were only performing to live his dream, so he is considering this the end of the Rougeau family run in professional wrestling after 75 years.  He has also shut down his wrestling school.  “In the last week, I’ve been sitting at home and sometimes I start to cry,” Rougeau told The Gazette, “But I can’t put it on my sons to keep (the family name) going if they don’t want to do it.”  He said he is making a clean break from wrestling, but will do speaking engagements going forward.  You can read the entire piece by clicking here.  Thanks to John Delva for sending it along.

NWA Champion Nick Aldis will defend against Robbie E at the 8/17 APWA event in Grafton, West Virginia.

WWE Hall of Famer Jake Roberts is returning to the ring this Tuesday for Canadian Wrestling Excellence as part of a six man Tag that features Roberts, CWE Champion “Hotshot” Danny Duggan & Canadian National Strongman Champion Tyler Colton vs. CWE Tag Team Champions AJ Sanchez & Kevin O’Doyle, & CWE Grand Slam Champion “Bad Boy” Anderson Tyson Moore

T-Mart Promotions, which regularly brings in guests for major conventions, announced it will be holding "The Gathering" in the home of the old, much missed Mid-Atlantic Legends weekend the weekend of August 15-18th, 2019.  The name is a reference to Starrcade '85 and the plan is to run in the same hotel that Mid-Atlantic used in Charlotte, NC - the University Hilton - to bring fans back to the same destination they had been traveling to for years, featuring a banquet dinner, live action and signings.  I really, sincerely miss those old conventions more than I can ever really convey.
