WOULD WWE EVER REMOVE THE WOMEN FOR THEIR OWN WRESTLING SHOW, MIZ & MRS. AFTER THE MOVE TO FOX, EXPANDING THE WWE HALL OF FAME & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-08-02 10:00:00

With Miz & Mrs having a great launch, will it be an issue to have Miz on FOX (Smackdown) in 2019? Obviously assuming the show maintains a steady viewership throughout the season and is renewed.

Currently, they are only contracted for the six episodes in the current season.  If and when USA Network decides to renew, the Smackdown FOX deal would have no bearing on Miz & Mrs.  That is a separate entity.

Why do you think WWE has held off inducting Angelo Poffo to their HOF since they’re already celebrating the family?

No, I think they just haven't had the chance to induct him as part of their Legacy wing.

Will WWE ever expand their Hall of Fame to include those more on the production side like Jim Johnson, referees like Tim White, the Hebners, or Nick Patrick, USA Network executives who help give WWE a national platform, or trainers?

I hope that at some point, that sort of recognition does happen.  Any pro wrestler will tell you that the referees are just as important as they are and they are workers in their own right in the ring.  They should be included in any Hall of Fame, not just in WWE, but in all.  I think at some point, WWE will honor behind the scenes employees and make it a small part of the Hall of Fame broadcast, but I don't ever seeing it being a long segment.  They look at that show as if it's another TV product.

What’s the likelihood of a female-centric WWE wrestling show? Would it be contingent on how Evolution performs?

We already have one in Total Divas, but if you mean an in-ring show, I don't know.  I wouldn't want to remove the women from Raw and Smackdown.  I think if a broadcaster wanted to pay WWE for that show, WWE would consider it, but I don't think I want to see the women removed and given their own show - but anything is possible.

One more on Owen Hart.  Martha does not want WWE to profit in any way on Owen's wrestling legacy.  Would you see her agreeing to allowing Owen into the WWE Hall of Fame if WWE promised that any and all money made from anything Owen and WWE related did not go to the company, but to the Owen Hart Foundation?

No.  She does not want to have any association with WWE in any way, shape, or form.
