WHAT WWE SHOULD NOT DO FOR SUMMERSLAM, HOGAN BACK IN THE WWE FOLD, NXT VS. NEW JAPAN/ROH AND MORE

Do you think it's a great idea to have the ROH/NJPW G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden go head-to-head with NXT Takeover just across the river at the Barclays Center? That is some heavy competition right there. In my opinion, it would be better suited to that Friday instead where fans can attend all the big shows.

Personally, I wish one was on Friday and the other on Saturday so I could watch both in real time.  I get your point, I think that they would draw more fans if they went against the Hall Of Fame rather than NXT.  Going against NXT will force fans to choose between similar products, no doubt.  Luckily, a LOT of fans travel in for WrestleMania so they both should be able to draw a house as there will be 70,000 plus fans in the area.

With wrestling tournaments becoming more popular, do you think the WWE will have a tournament with the main roster talent? Possibly bringing back King of the Ring?

I think tournaments only mean something if they matter.  King of the Ring doesn’t matter anymore.  I think the best chance of having a tournament is to either crown a new champion (and God I hope that isn’t what they do with Brock Lesnar) or to crown a number one contender for one.

As soon as Kurt Angle announced the 2 triple threat matches I flipped the tv to the homerun derby. I knew it would be Lashley and Reigns winning (as I'm sure everyone did). My question is if Reigns wins do fans walk out and if Lashley wins does anyone even care?

I think the worst possible move that WWE could make going into SummerSlam is to have Reigns win and face Brock Lesnar for the Title.  The fans will hate it and it could kill the show.  People want something different, not the same old Roman.  And, I am just as scared as anyone that they will do exactly that.

If you are Vince McMahon, how do you use Hulk Hogan going forward? If at all?

I have to be honest, I am not OK with him being a part of the company right now.  The Hall Of Fame reinstatement?  OK, I can live with that.  But if Hogan is out representing the company, I have a problem with that.  He said some really horrible things and he has not done enough in the mea culpa department to be forgiven yet.  For those that use the lame excuse that he didn’t know he was being taped when he was with Bubba’s wife, I say that makes no difference because he still said what he said and it got out.  But even if someone wants to cling to that, they can’t make any excuses for what he was caught on tape saying when he visited his son in jail.  Anyone that visits an inmate knows they are being recorded, and he still said what he said there.  So, there are no excuses.  My issue with Hogan is I have seen very few acts of contrition on his part.  I think he needs to do a lot more to apologize for his behavior before a family friendly company like WWE makes him a part of what they do.  So if I am Vince, I don’t use Hogan at all right now.  I have him show real acts of contrition because I wouldn’t want to deal with the backlash that could happen if I used a guy who said what he has said and hasn’t apologized enough for it.  No company wants to be associated with someone that has made racist statements that he has made.

Are the days of seeing WWE on a network like NBC (IE doing like a Saturday Nights Main Event) forever gone never to be seen again or do you think there is a chance, no matter how small, that maybe, just maybe, someday they will test those waters again to see what happens? Or does their present deals that concern Raw and Smackdown prohibit them from even considering that?

Well, they will be on a Network starting next October when they go to FOX.  Beyond that, they have Raw and Smackdown now, making them a lot of money.  Back in the day, they paid for most of their TV slots and they needed the SNME specials to generate interest in the product.  That isn’t the case any longer.
