Will HHH become the new CEO after Vince decides to step down?
I think that is to be determined at this point. It wouldn’t surprise me. It wouldn’t surprise me if it were Stephanie McMahon, or even George Barrios or Michelle Wilson. At the end of the day, as long as the McMahon family controls the votes with the stock, they will control the company.
And will he keep the same direction on where the company is going or will he have his own vision?
I have said MANY times that anyone that is expecting WWE to become NXT if/when HHH takes over will be very disappointed. That won’t happen. But, what I do expect to happen is for more logic to come to the product. I also expect that there will be more explanations to things, as opposed to now when we are often expected to just accept things that often make no sense. So I expect a tighter, more logical product, but one that stays within the kid friendly confines that they are in now. And you know what? That’s OK. The Simpsons has been on for years because kids like it and their parents do as well.
I remember that Drew McIntyre was a "chosen one" by Vince before his career went sideways on him, and I was wondering... Could Drew land in that position again or do you think Vince has moved on?
I don’t think anyone should ever be marketed as Vince’s chosen one. There is just too much pressure on the person that carries that gimmick.
Second, would Vince ever put the title on a guy who speaks with Drew's accent? Finn had it before he got hurt, but how long would he have kept it? I am not trying to say Vince is racist or anything, I mean Bret is as Canadian as they get and he is a legend, but he didn't have an accent like Finn, Drew, or say a guy like Nakamura have. Is how a guy communicates something that Vince looks at?
Sure, Vince definitely looks at a guy’s ability to do promos, no doubt. With that said, Drew has an accent but he also speaks very, very clearly. He is not hard to understand. I don’t see his accent as a deterrent to him carrying the Title in any way. Drew has been great since returning to WWE. His accent will not be an issue.
Would it have made sense to have Sasha Banks and Bayley face off in a Kendo Stick Match at Extreme Rules. Then have Bayley once again hesitate to use the stick and then decide to beat Sasha up with it to the extent they have to stop to match to show how much she has changed from last year. Would this be better than more skits with Dr. Shelby? He’s great but man these skits better have a good payoff.
I don’t know that I need to see women beating each other up with kendo sticks, but I definitely agree that after the angle that they did, where Bayley snapped on her, it would have made a lot more sense to take their feud into the ring instead of doing the insipid Dr. Shelby stuff.
