WWE SHUT OUT FROM EMMY NOMINATIONS

By Mike Johnson on 2018-07-12 12:11:00

Despite a big push that included hosting a For Your Consideration party last month in Los Angeles and being listed on the preliminary ballots for the first time ever, World Wrestling Entertainment failed to land any official nominations for the 2018 Emmy Awards.

WWE had been on the prelim ballots in the following categories:

Best Documentary or Non-Fiction Special

*WWE 24: Empowered.

*Andre the Giant documentary.

Outstanding Structured Reality Program

*Mixed Match Challenge.

*Monday Night Raw.

Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program:

*Total Bellas.

*Total Divas.

Outstanding Variety Special (live)

*Wrestlemania 34.

Although the company failed to garner any nominations, it’s important to note that 2018 was the first time WWE was ever able to get any of their programming to even the preliminary ballot.  That had never happened before.

The 70th Primetime Emmy Awards will air on 9/17.
