By Mike Johnson on 2018-06-24 13:27:00

It was announced this weekend that John Thomas Greene, aka Johnny Attitude, who performed for World Championship Wrestling as an undercard talent before forming the Micro Championship Wrestling promotion that was carried for a season on TruTV as a reality series based around the story that Hulk Hogan had gotten involved into the company.

Will MCW ever return and promote shows again?  You can place your bet on that happening by going to xcasinoclub.ca.

Greene broke into the business in the mid-1990s, training at the WCW Power Plant.  He appeared on a regular basis on WCW TV, putting over talents from 1996-1999.  In 2009, Green formed MCW, appearing as “Johnny G” on camera as the company’s owner and was running the promotion as late as last month.

There is no word yet on the cause of his death.  Greene was 53 at the time of his passing.

On Attitude's Facebook page, a post dated 6/22 noted his passing: "It is with saddened hearts that the family of John Thomas Greene announce his unexpected passing on June 12, 2018 with his sister, brother, and MCW family at his bedside. Johnny touched the lives of so many throughout his short time on earth. Though born in the Bronx in 1965, his childhood years were spent in Patchogue, NY until relocating to the west coast of Florida where he owned and operated a gym. While there, he began competing in body building competitions in the 90’s. During those years, he became friends with some notable wrestlers from the gym who helped him launch his WCW wrestling career; he then became known as Johnny Attitude. Johnny will be remembered most as the owner of Micro Championship Wrestling (MCW), a midget wrestling company which toured throughout the US and Canada. The MCW crew was featured in a Reality TV series which aired on TruTV in 2011 called ‘Hulk Hogan’s Micro Championship Wrestling’. Johnny was a great son, brother, nephew, cousin, brother in law, uncle, friend, and leader of his MCW family. He will be sorely missed by so many, and his family misses him already."

Former WCW star Brad "Lodi" Cain took to his Facebook page to pay tribute to Greene, writing, "Sad news this morning to hear an old friend John Greene (Johnny Attitude) has passed away... Johnny took me in as a friend at WCW’s POWERPLANT shortly after I moved to Atlanta. We practiced together, worked out together, wrestled each other and the list goes on. Johnny was the man who introduced me to Raven. Arguably, without that introduction, there may have never been a LODI character. Was blessed to get a short video from him and Chris Wright just a month ago. Still just really stunned... you’re gone too soon, old friend."

A memorial service for Greene will be held on Saturday 8/4 at the Salvation Army Corps & Community Center at Jasmine Estates, 7745 Ridge Road, Port Richey, Florida 34668 at 11 AM.
