WHAT WAS ORIGINALLY PLANNED TO CLOSE LAST NIGHT'S PPV, BACKSTAGE NOTES FROM MONEY IN THE BANK, NEW WWE HOME IN ATLANTIC CITY, WWE UK UPDATE & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2018-06-18 15:40:00

As we noted on our post-game show last night, at one point, Money in the Bank was slated to close with Ronda Rousey vs. Nia Jax for the Raw Women's Championship, followed by the Alexa Bliss cash-in.  The decision was made at some point over the weekend to instead close out with the Men's Money in the Bank ladder match.

Pat Patterson, Bruce Prichard and John "Big" Gaburick were all at last night's Money in the Bank PPV.

There had been talk of bringing James Ellsworth back as far as the Greatest Royal Rumble event and at one point, there was a pitch to have him in that bout.

No update on the Paige situation as of this writing.

Charles Robinson commented on the Chicago crowd turning on Roman Reigns vs. Jinder Mahal last night:

WWE will debut at the Hard Rock Casino's Mark Ettis Arena in Atlantic City, NJ on Monday 8/20, the day after Summerslam.  This will be the first time I can ever recall since the '80s that the company is not running Boardwalk Hall, the home of Wrestlemania IV and V.

WWE announced that tomorrow's UK Championship event at Royal Albert Hall will feature Wolfgang challenging NXT North American Champion Adam Cole.  If anyone is attending tonight or tomorrow, we are seeking live reports from those events.

WWE released the complete Amir Jordan vs. Zack Gibson from the first round of the WWE UK Championship Tournament:

There is a lot of talk of that brand being referred to as NXT UK going forward.

WWE has dates on 8/4 in Pensacola, Florida and 8/13 in Columbia, South Carolina.
