WWE BRINGS UP TALENT THAT THEY FEEL IS READY, STROWMAN THE GIANT, SMILING BABYFACES AND MORE

Is Braun Strowman the modern day equivalent of Andre the Giant?  Between being booked as consistently, being as over as he is, having a lovable quality as a babyface with great comedic timing yet still being intimidating, and having a unique extremely larger than life look, plus he can go, I see him in that position.  Hell, I could see him never having a run with a championship and still be as successful as the top guys... like Andre did.

I guess you could make that case.  The business has evolved so much that a Giant, like Andre, isn’t as rare as it used to be.  Men are bigger and taller now than they were in the past so the unique nature of an Andre won’t have the effect that it did back in the day.

Also, Big Show was massive, he could work and had charisma like Braun does.  How come in his 20+ year career, he never got as over or as pushed as Braun has been in the last 2 years?  Was it his weight management, showing up when Austin and Rock were at their hottest or something else?

I think it was a mix of all of those things.  Plus, Braun is big but not 7 feet tall.  And as you said, there are no Rocks or Austins for him to compete with for a spot.

If Smackdown Live starts getting more viewers when it moves to the FOX network than Raw on USA will WWE have to treat it like the A show?

As I said the other day, I don’t even think viewers matter at this point.  Money does.  Both shows have to be treated as “must see” because they are being paid that way.

There are some WWE superstars who, to use the tiresome old phrase, can't tell a wrist lock from a wristwatch, yet get called up from NXT to the main roster while someone like say, Kassius Ohno, gets passed over. Then the lesser talent gets a huge push on the main roster yet fails to get any better as a in-ring competitor and ultimately winds up living off their gimmick.  My question is why would management pull up a lesser performer over a talented season vet, and even when the lesser talent fails to get any better why don't get sent back to NXT for more training/seasoning?

In most cases when WWE calls up a talent, it’s because they don’t agree with your assessment.  In some cases yes, they bring up someone green due to a specific attribute but in most cases they feel the talents are ready.  And if you see someone getting a long run it’s because they think that person is doing a good job and they have a different criteria than you do.

Have you noticed they are having several of the top babyfaces in WWE smile a lot during their entrances and promos?  First we had smiling Apollo, now we have smiling Finn and smiling Lashley.  Do you think turning so many of these guys in to the stereotypical "smiling babyface" is the way to go?  We saw in the Rock's early career how fans eventually get sick of and turn on a babyface who does little else other than smile and pander to the crowd.

They would tell you that they were marketing to a different crowd back then.  As we have said here before, they know that the older fans watch and they will gladly take their money, but they are focused on marketing to younger people, so that is why we see the stereotypical stuff.
