How do you think WWE will respond to Ring of Honor running Madison Square Garden?? Can they really stop the show???
I will be absolutely shocked if they haven’t already tried to kill the date. Legally, I have no idea whether they can, as I have no idea what the wording is on their relationship with Madison Square Garden, but I can't imagine they are happy about anyone else being in the venue. While they don’t run MSG as often as they used to (and should, in my opinion), there’s a lot of pride and history in that venue for WWE. I expect them to, if they haven’t already, try to pressure MSG into canceling the date. The bigger story here is that MSG has reached out to others to run the venue, so it's going to be a case of WWE and MSG coming to some sort of terms or MSG opting to book other wrestling companies - if they can afford to run the place - and WWE having to live with that.
When do you think the show will take place?
As I wrote on my Twitter account on Monday, I expect the day before Wrestlemania 35. ROH running Wrestlemania week makes the most financial sense,
If you are ROH, what would you do to make the show special?
Obviously, have New Japan and CMLL talents in major matches, but if I was ROH, I’d be planning for what the main event of that show would be now. They need a big grudge match to play off that night. I would also do everything in my power to have Okada vs. Omega on the show.
I would also have the first members of the ROH Hall of Fame inducted that night. I think a ROH HOF is long overdue and they could do a nice segment in what would be the biggest night in their history celebrating how far they have come.
Any word on when AAA will run MSG?
We have heard the initial plan was to run 9/16, but have since heard they may have a date in Las Vegas that night instead. I’ve always heard 9/23 was the backup date.
Do you think WWE will shift some events from Barclay to MSG on Summerslam or Wrestlemania week to make MSG happy and lock other companies out?
It’s possible they could do that, but the costs would probably be ridiculously high. I don’t see it.
