CHANGING THE TOURING SCHEDULE, ALL IN 2, WHAT FANS UNHAPPY WITH WWE SHOULD DO AND MORE

My question revolves around the new TV deal, and RAW & SmackDown. Given that Fox paid a tremendous amount, arguably making SmackDown the more valuable property, would WWE be wise to shrink their tour schedule and distance so that stars are able to be on both shows more often?

I have actually said on audio a few times that WWE needs to cut back the touring schedule when the new deals go into effect.  When they start, TV rights fees will be around 75% of their gross revenue, if not more.  Touring will be a very low percentage.  Given that they are now, more than ever, a TV product first, I think it makes sense to make life easier on the stars of the TV shows.  It would be a harder call for me if touring was doing bang up business but since it’s not, I would cut back for sure, just to cut back on the wear and tear for the wrestlers.

In your report on the 6/2 Ring of Honor show in NYC you wrote that one of the Young Bucks said they’d consider doing an All In 2 in Madison Square Garden. Is there anyway Vince McMahon could stop them from hosting a wrestling match in a building his family has used almost exclusively for pretty much the last century?

The only way I can think of is by paying for an exclusive.  WWE is way more aligned with The Barclays Center now so MSG doesn’t have the loyalty to WWE that it used to.

What do you think about talk about All In 2 when the first show hasn’t even happened yet?

I think it’s great.  They sold out in less than hour so why not look to the future?  I also think it’s great that so many fans supported them and are interested in their product.  I hope that they run more shows and I hope that fans that keep waiting for WWE to make a change to their product that they will NOT be making can get on board with other promotions, like Ring of Honor, NXT, New Japan and All In.  Those are the groups that ARE giving them what they want.

How can New Japan Pro Wrestling sell out G1 Special in San Francisco?

They make the tickets available and then people buy them.  It’s a pretty straightforward process.  Seriously, New Japan has a strong following in California.

I realize pro wrestling is worked, and requires a certain suspension of belief, but I'm having a hard time getting excited about, or finding the concept of a Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax match even remotely entertaining.  Because I know Rousey's history, and think if it were a real fight, she'd beat Jax without much effort.  Not saying Jax can't work, but she's big, slower, and I don't think she'd last five minutes in non-worked environment.    Have I just become too jaded as a fan because I think this way?

I don’t think you have become jaded.  I think you just are remembering the first thing you said in this question.  It’s not a real fight.  It’s a performance art.  If they book it right, they can put obstacles in the way of Rousey and can play off of the fact that she should win easily.  Or, they can try and make you think MMA and fighting a monster are two different things, like Floyd Mayweather fighting the heavyweight champ.  Like you said, it’s a work so you just need to look at it like that.
